The next day I was out on the roof like every morning, this time thinking of the night before. I had just killed a man who molested two little girls both starting when they were four, I knew him from a woman that worked at a shop in the city she was the girls mother, the only evidence I took back was a Polaroid of his throat slit and the bloody knife I used.
billy, Petra, and lex were up on the roof to but we didn't talk. Soon Marcus came up but stopped to talk to them first, he looked terrible and drained and paranoid. After a little while he came over to me "morning" he said with a smile "morning" I gave one back, we sat in silence or a while. I finally looked over and took in his appearance completely. He had dark eye bags and was sorta pal "I'm sorry but you look terrible, are you alright?" I laughed a bit and so did he "yea-yea, just had a long night" I nodded "same" he tilted his head in interest "I was doing Lin's homework" I looked out to the city "oh, how'd it-uhm-how'd it go?" I laughed then pulled the photo out "holy shit, what did you do to him?" He said looking at the photo "isn't it obvious? I cut open his throat...I have the blade you wanna see?" He nodded so I pulled the blade out and showed it to him "h-how do you do this and not feel bad?" He said sitting next to me "he deserved it, he was a sick person who deserved to die"
"w-hat did he do?" He asked looking at the photo again "He was molesting two little girls...little babies Marcus. How sick do you have to be" he looked at me with a small smile "well then, I guess this is was what he deserved" I laughed and the bell rang. "we should get to class pretty boy" I hopped off the wall and started walking to the door with Marcus right behind me. When we got to class Marcus looked even more freaked out "are you sure you're ok? You don't look good" I said pulling him aside "I'm ok" he smiled, and I nodded "ok but you can tell me if there's something wrong" he smiled and shook his head "I'm fine, but thanks" I hesitated but eventually went to my seat.
When I sat I immediately turned to my brother who looked upset and kind of worried "I heard you ran a package for pá, how'd it go?" He scoffed and Maria shifted in her seat "what did you do?!" I snapped at her "she made a scene, Ona the place was filled with undercover cops,it was a setup" my brother said turning to me "why would you do that? What the fuck is wrong with you!" I said giving her a disgusted look. She said nothing "you should know how lucky you are" I scoffed and shook my head at her in disgust then turned back to my brother
"did you do the assignment?" He said I nodded "where's your evidence?" He sat up in his chair and I pulled out the baggie with the blade and the picture. For a second he looked at the picture and said nothing "eres como papá"( you're just like dad) he said with a laugh which made me smile proudly. When Lin got to the class I gave him the things then had to tell the class what happened,he was impressed and gave me an A.
The next person to go up was willie, I noticed Marcus look pale and uncomfortable while he talked.when willie went to sit back down he did a chuckle and Marcus tensed. Lin walked to the front of the class slowly "70% of soldiers never pull the trigger in battle, no matter the circumstances the weak always choke in the face of killing" he went on "all your families expectations only one of you could do it" he smacked his cane on a desk which made me look up quickly "so we'll have a new test, survive and you pass, fail and you die...the weak do not belong in my school!" He said looking around the class "go get out of my sight" we all got up and out of the class. Willie was told to stay after class, I didn't have a good feeling about it.
