In a Month

A lot can happen in a month. For example, I started going on more jobs, a lot of the time I don't feel bad, mostly because I don't feel anything. I started using more guns, I guess I figured they worked faster and I didn't have to spend much time on one person. Maria was given the position to run the gang while I'm gone, of course I have Juan giving people things to do on the low, but her being in charge has really messed things up from what I've been told. Things like who we sell to, who we're sort of allies with, deals we had along with truces have been broken and it's because of her, Juan says the Dixi mob and Kuroki are pissed that I just disappeared. Rosa is due soon and she's been very scared for it, dad says the house will be for her and the twins when they come and she won't have to worry about anything anymore which helps her a lot when she gets scared for the babies to arrive.

Another thing that can happen over a month is Marcus getting more and more distant. I've tried getting Marcus to come out and visit but he's always been to busy. Either with school or the new job Willy got him, which ever one it is it always stops him from coming. I tried calling at least twice a day, once in the morning and once before I went to sleep, but he only ever answered one call a day and even then he'd cut conversations short, saying he had to go do something. Ive had my doubts, (wouldn't you if you were me?) people telling me he probably is messing around, but it's Marcus and I didn't want to to believe it. Plus, the person who says it the most is Santiago who's been trying to get me to go out with him since the first day he was back. Which is another thing that has happened in the month. Over the month, my dad and his thought it would be a good idea to have us work together, he thinks it's just business, I think they're trying to set us up again; either way it's been annoying. All he does is try to flirt and get in my pants, a person can only take that for so long before they retaliate, which I did and it got me in a bit of trouble considering I broke his nose.

Anyways...the plan for when I went back to school was no one would know Chico is dead, yet. My dad figured it would be best for us to wait to tell people until I was ready to tell people but of course, that's not how things went. A few days ago, Juan came back down to San Diego, like he'd been doing every weekend since I got here. It was a normal visit, he asked Rosa if she was doing good, multiple times, and if she wasn't he did what ever he could do so she was. Then, he asked if I was good, multiple times. Even when I said I was he didn't believe me. But, this visit was different, when he first got to the house he seemed hesitant, like he was guilty or something.

"You've been acting weird since you got here what's your deal?" I asked as we watched a movie in the living room "I uh-gotta tell you something" he said. I paused the movie and turned towards him "what?" I asked. He hesitated, like he had to think of how he was going to say what he's was going to say "just spit it out Juan" I snapped after a while "they know" he said quickly "who knows what?" I questioned "the school, they know about you and Chico...and Rosa" I sat shocked. Questions ran through my head, who knew first, was all I could think. "Who did you tell Juan?" I pressured. He shook his head and put his hands up

"No one-I didn't tell anyone, I swear Ona, I wouldn't" I stared at him for a minute, he was telling the truth. The only other person who knew was Marcus...so I rushed over to the phone and dialed the phone. I waited...and waited...and waited some more but no one picked up. I slammed the phone down then picked it up. If people knew about just me leaving school out of my fathers fear, I wouldn't care, one single threat and the topic was dropped, same with Chico. But, them knowing Rosa is pregnant scared me. We didn't know who killed Chico, or why, for all we knew it was someone attempting to kill off my fathers bloodline or in other words, finding a way to lead the cartel. This worried me because the person could come after Rosa to stop her from having two new heirs to the cartel.
