Chapter 22

The F**king Bag

There's a new rumor! (Of course there is it's kings and I'm Ona) I guess it's not fully a rumor because everyone now knows I want Maria dead but according to the whole student body, I'm trying to put bombs in Maria's room. Or maybe it was poison? Or was it gas? Or maybe I wasn't even trying to kill her like that, maybe I was just trying to put dog shit in her room? I couldn't tell you because that's what everyone else thinks, I'm doing.

I continued doing what I was doing, not caring what everyone else was saying. Maria being the dumbass she is believed them so, when I placed the small white bag outside her door, she threw it away. I had been doing this for the third time this week when a group of KGB scoffed "your problem?" I asked once I put the bag on the floor "cartel must be weak" Viktor said making his goons laugh "you can't even kill Maria face to face, pathetic" he added "wow Viktor, when did you grow a pair?" I asked as I rolled my eyes "I've always had pair, big pair, like bear" he high fived his friends and I pushed past them

This occurrence happened more then once today specifically. Everyone was only so comfortable Because I no longer had Chico. I was a small girl and since everything happened I was no longer loud and I didn't talk as much anymore, I think they saw it as me getting weak. Anyways, I had just went to check if Maria took the bag into her dorm but it was once again tossed into the trash can near by. I finally gave up and figured what ever happened, happened. 

The next day in class there was loud arguing coming from the halls. Lin walked out the class to check what was going on and there was a loud thud si, being nosey, we all got up to check. Standing outside was Maria who was hovering over one of Shabnam's friends who had a busted lip and messed up hair. She looked heated, but also like she was about to cry, I simply laughed and went back to my seat. Later that day I was in Master Zane's class and he had grouped us up for a test. I sadly got paired up with Saya, Brandy and Maria.

We were sitting in silence, minus the occasional talk saya tried having with me. I sat on a tomb playing with the white ribbon I had tied around Chicos blade Handel and Brandy took a big deep breath "just so you know...I don't believe what they're saying" she said, we all looked over to her confused "I know how much you loved him, everyone could see it" she went on. I scoffed and decided to see where the conversation went. Brandy sat up all the way "I'll tell ya the time I really saw it, was during that pop quiz" my jaw tensed when I remembered what Marcus had told me that day.

"'Cause I laid there" she gave a fake sympathetic nod to Maria then locked eyes with me "and I watch you give that antidote to everyone...except Chico" my eyes darted over to Maria who was already looking at me, I could tell she was scared but was trying to hide it. She looked away and brandy went to sit next to her "and there you were, sitting over him, as he was choking...dying...and you wait and eternity to give him that leaf and I know you did that because you just-you just loved him so much" she started to fake cry and tap dry her 'tears' and I couldn't help but laugh at it.

She stopped faking and went back to being serious "I mean what else could it be?" Maria looked up, not looking at anyone anymore "what? You didn't think I wouldn't notice? Thought I was just some dumb hillbilly who couldn't put two and two together?" I laughed and they all looked over to me "no, she thought she wouldn't get caught" brandy shrugged in agreement "I loved Chico" Maria stated, sitting up and looking at me. "No you didn't. Stop lying" I spat back "if you loved him you wouldn't have killed him" I walked over to her "if you loved him you wouldn't have cheated on him"

I was in her face now and I felt her breathing pick up "I didn't kill Chico. I loved him!" Not fully thinking and in a moment of rage, I held the knife up to her chest pushing it against her skin "I swear if you say you loved my brother one more time I'll drive his knife into your chest and listen to you beg for mercy" I'm guessing this triggered Zane and he came running out from behind the stone wall. He stood between me and Maria and someone held me back holding me off the ground. "alright that's enough, Ona you'll be taking an F for this test, I won't be tolerating that" I said nothing and tried to fight my way out of whoever's arms were holding onto me.
