The last time me and Marcus hung out, was actually the last time. After that night and the next morning, I rarely ever saw him again. Sure during class I'd see him or in the halls when he'd give me a quick peck on the cheek then hurry off or if he was trying to sneak around the school like no one could see him, but I did catch him a couple of times. I didn't know why he was doing it until about two weeks after I got back and Santiago came up to me after class "did you know your man and Maria are hanging out" he said. I couldn't tell if this was him just trying to fuck with me or if he was being serious. Since the night I came back and Marcus allegedly told me him and Maria were friends, I didn't believe it. Because why of all people, would he be friends with her.

"They're what?" I asked, putting away my book "yea, on the roof, having a smoke sesh and listening to music all by themselves" I jerked back confused "look if you're trying to fuck with me, it's not funny" he threw his hands up in defense "I'm not. I may wanna take you out but I'm still gonna respect what you got going on with what's his face, I wouldn't make something like that up" he was being sincere, which was rare for Santiago. I brushed it off, I didn't fully like the fact that he was alone with her because I didn't trust her but, I trusted Marcus so, what could really happen?

Over the next few weeks, Marcus continued to hang out with Maria only now they weren't sneaking around. He openly told me he was going to hangout with her. Even if he had just got to my room to hangout with me, he was leaving for her, it was starting to piss me off. As Marcus got more distant, Maria got more cocky. She'd pass me in the halls and chuckle to herself or say good morning to me or try to talk to me about Marcus, mostly about things I didn't know about him, things he never told me but did tell her. I had bigger things to worry about so I brushed her off. This week in particular though, me and Marcus had planned a date. But the morning of the date, he completely forgot about it. I didn't mention it, thinking maybe he got the days wrong, but when he never brought it up again I gave up.

It's Friday night now, I was laying in bed when my door was busted through, it was Santiago and Petra(they had found a weird middle ground where they actually managed to become like best friends, it was sorta weird at first). "What are you doing in bed?" Santiago asked "laying in it?" I replied. "What are you really doing in bed?" He added. I didn't know when or how but Santiago went from wanting to go out with me to wanting to be like my best friend "...waiting for Marcus" I said quietly. Petra jerked back then laughed "funny, he said he told you he was going to get food with Maria"

I shook my head and Santiago clenched his jaw "ok, that's it, get out of bed we're going out" he ripped the sheets off of me revealing the red silk pajama pants I was wearing with pink fuzzy socks. "I already said I wasn't going on a date with you" I protested pulling my sheets back over myself. He rolled his eyes and scoffed "no, we're going out" he point to me him and Petra then ripped my sheets off once again. "Get ready, meet at the front, we're leaving in an hour!" he said pushing Petra out the door "dress sexy, I know you can" he said pointing his finger at me sternly.
