chapter four

Y/n's POV:
About an hour before the "big fight" as everyone calls it, I yell at Mikasa.

"MIKASA! WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING?! PEOPLE ARE GOING TO THINK IM LIKE OVERCONFIDENT OR SOMETHING AND THAT IM SNOBBY OR WHATEVER!! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! NOW I HAVE TO FIGHT SHADIS!"

Mikasa just stood there and smirked.

I didn't know that people were listening to me yell at her.

"IM GONNA KILL YOU MIKASA, JUST YOU WAIT. I'LL GET YOU BACK FOR THIS!" then, I spun around and got a whiff of multiple people behind the door. I rolled my eyes.

Eren, Armin, Krista, Ymir, Jean, Marco, Connie, Reiner, Bertholdt, and Sasha were all there. I threw the door and leaned on the doorframe.

"Enjoy the show?" I innocently smiled at them, but my eyes spoke lengths. I am not in the mood for your shit so don't bother me or I will not hesitate to fucking kill your little asses. Eren's and Armin's eyes went wide after seeing me, I could sense their momentary fear.

"Um, guys? Let's go," Armin said, ushering everyone out.

*time skip*
It was time. It was about two minutes before the fight, and I knew I couldn't back down. It would make me look weak, and give me less of the chance to be in the top ten.

Before I know it, I'm outside, standing fave to face with the one and only: Shadis.

"ARE YOU READY, CADET?" he yells.
"Yes sir!" I say.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!"
"YES SIR!"
"GOOD! SOMEONE COUNT US DOWN!"

Bertholdt gets ready.
"3..."
"2..."
"1...."
"GO!"

The crowd disappears as I focus all of my senses on Commander Shadis.

He's going to come in with an attack that will leave his right hip open. He's going to try and uppercut with his left hand, the follow up with a punch to the face with the right. Ambidextrous. Useful. As promised, he did what I predicted and I countered that by giving a swift kick on his hip. He immediately pulled back and I could sense himself questioning his decisions.

He is going to try and take out my feet from under me next. As he pivots to his stance, kicking out his foot, I leap into the air and axe kick him on the head, not hard enough to give him a concussion or knock him out.

Now he's really questioning his decisions.

I've got to take him out now. He comes at me with a series of quick punches a kicks. I block them all, waiting for an opening, when I find one. The left side of his next is wide open. I act like i'm going to kick his feet out from under him, then spin around instead, and kick the side on the neck.

He flies to the side and crashes to the floor.

I won.

I really won.

I get mobbed by the others. Mikasa obviously rubs it in my face.
"I knew you could do it." she smugly says.
"HOLY SHIT!"
"OH MY GOD!"
"WHAT THE FUCK SHE ACTUALLY BEAT HIM!"
"NO WAY!"

Comments come flying, left and right.

I make my way through the crowd to Shadis and offer him my hand. He ignores it and pulls himself up, stomping away, but I can smell his pride in me.

*time skip*
A few hours later, I'm with my friends around a table while we all talk during dinner. Sasha stares at our food, itching to try some. I sneak her a little bit and she chomps it down like a rabid animal as I laugh. That girl is something different.

"I still can't believe you beat him!" Connie says from next to me. I smile and shrug.
"Thanks, I guess."

Suddenly, Shadis bursts through the doors. He's looking for someone. Presumably me.
