chapter twenty

All of us are on top of the wall now as some of the Garrison's troops check the wall once more. I scoff, rolling my eyes. As if we lost some of our best fighters just to be wrong about all of this. I stand up, crossing my arms over my chest, 'staring' off into the distance. At least that's what it looked like to others. All I could really see was darkness, but not many knew that. I hear footsteps approaching me and I catch a familiar scent.

It's Krista. Well- Historia. I don't really blame her for hiding her identity, that would just be me being a hell of a hypocrite.

She stands next to me, and I get a surge of emotions. Historia isn't one to hide them, it's just in her nature. But most of all, she's worried. Most likely about Ymir.

"What do you think they will do to her?" she whispers, and I hear her voice crack. I swear to god, if those two haven't made out yet, I will willingly be Hange's experiment. I sigh, and think of a way to make it sound better than it really is.

"I- I don't know, Historia. They may just take the bad part of it because they're scared, even though she saved our lives. Without her we'd probably be dead. It just depends on which regiment gets to 'handle' her. If the military police get her, she's probably dead. If the scouts get her, then she'll just have to face Hange's wrath." I say and she chuckles a bit. I can feel her ease off a bit. It's not good for her to worry too much. "Maybe just talk to Hange about it. I'm sure she'll understand, I mean she doesn't want Ymir to die either." Historia nods and smiles, gratefully.

"Thanks, Y/n. Take care, okay?" I nod and she leaves to talk to Hange. I sit on the wall, letting my legs dangle over the edge. The breeze flowed smoothly through my (h/l) (h/c) hair, and I felt oddly... calm. Even though there was people all around me, I felt peaceful. It was a nice feeling.

Until Eren came over.

"Y/N! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" he asked, running up behind me. I internally sigh and turn around to face the brunette. I'm starting to be able to smell the color brown out. I still can't tell if his eyes are blue or green, though. I give him a sarcastic smile.

"What does it LOOK like i'm doing?" I sassily ask and he huffs in response.

"You should be resting! You just got badly injured! You almost DIED!" he rants.

"Mmhm, call me when something new happens," I say, facing the inside of the walls again. He groans.

"Fine, then. You give me no choice." I furrow my eyebrows, confused. Then, I feel a pair of hands wrap around my torso, starting to pull me backwards, away from the edge of the wall.

"H-hey! Eren! Let me go!" I say, struggling to get out of his grip. Then I wince at a sudden pain shooting through my side and I stop struggling. He drags me all the way to the 'medical center' and plops me down, while I pout like a child, arms crossed on my chest, eyes facing the ground. He chuckles at my childish behavior, shaking his head. He then turns around, probably to call someone to watch me, but i'm that time, I get up and run over to Reiner and Bertholdt, hiding behind them. One was muscular and the other was tall, therefore it should be easy to hide behind the two boys. Then look at me confused, when I shush them.

"Shhhh! Act natural! I'm hiding from Eren!" I explain, and they nod in understanding, going back to what they were taking about before. I could hear Eren yelling from across the wall.

"WHAT THE- WHERE THE FUCK DID SHE GO?! GOD FUCKING DAMMIT!" Let me just say he got a LOT of funny looks. I'm giggling behind Reiner and Bertholdt while their laughing too. Then, Eren stomps up to them.

"Do you guys know where Y/n is?" he asks. I freeze, holding my breath.

"No," Reiner said. I'm trying my best not to laugh at this point. Suddenly, I hear a voice from behind me.

"Hey Y/n!" Connie yells. I facepalm.

"Dammit Connie!" I say, then turn around to 'see' Eren.

"You are supposed to be RESTING!" he exclaims.

"It's not like you listen when Mikasa tells you to after experimenting with Hange." I say, crossing my arms.

"I-" he blinks at me. I give him a sweet smile, then head towards Connie. The other three follow and we all talk. Reiner is worried about dying the next time since he's already had two close calls. Then, Hange calls us over.

"We're leaving! There's no breach." She turns around and starts walking away. I go to follow her and the others, when Reiner tells me and Eren to stop.

"Come with us," Reiner says.

"Where?" I ask.

"To our hometown. It's a lot better there. At least than it is over here!" he continues. Bertholdt looks a little scared.

"Reiner! Not now!" he says, eyes wide. I can sense something is about to go wrong.

I sense around me while Reiner keeps on talking. The others are walking away. Mikasa seems a little worried and Connie turns around.

"Reiner, I think you're tired or something. You're a warrior, remember?" It seemed like something struck a match in him. He blinked, and slowly nodded.

"Yeah. Yeah, that must be it. I'm not thinking straight. It must be the blood loss or something." he says, holding his head.

"Yeah, I mean did you think we'd let you kidnap us just because you asked nicely? I think the blood loss is really getting to you." Eren adds with a chuckle. My eyes go wide.

"Guys, hurry up!" Connie yells. I sense Hange turning around. Suddenly her eyes go wide.

"Shit," I hear her mumble and she starts running back towards us.

"I can't do this anymore. I just can't. I want to go back home. Let's just get this goddamn mission over with and GO HOME!" he yells, pulling his 'sling' off to show a fully healed hand.

"Reiner, are we really doing this now?!" Bertholdt panics.

"Yeah. We are."

And with that, lighting struck the place and I went flying off the wall.
