Petra and I walk outside, after eating lunch. We're starting our training now. I can sense Oluo trying to sneak up on us and an evil smirk emerges onto my face. He was currently behind a tree that is still a bit ahead of us. Oluo's not gonna get far. I tell Petra, and we make a quick little plan to scare him instead. Petra and I just kept on walking and walking until we reach that tree. Then, instead of going the way he expects us to so he can scare us, we pop up on the other side and scream.

The look on his face was priceless.

He screams and jumps back, terrified for his life. I hear Gunter and Eld cracking up a little bit away and Oluo is red in the face, embarrassed because he just got played.

Petra and I are dying on the floor.

"OH MY GOD, DID YOU SEE HIS FACE?!" Petra yelled and I started laughing even harder if that was even possible.

"THAT WAS- JUST- PRICELESS!" I replied.

"Okay, okay, just get up and let's get to training before Captain Levi gets mad at us." Oluo mumbled and left.

I, on the other hand, was crying on the floor.

It was too funny.

Petra got up, still giggling, and helped me up as well. We went a little bit further to where the training spot was and stood next to Oluo. Gunter and Eld were already there, so he moved in between them, to avoid any more catastrophes to his poor ego. Captain Levi came out and just told us to spar. He gave us sparring partners.

"Eld and Petra, Oluo and Y/n, Gunter, switch out with the person who loses on the team that finishes first. This is not a competition." he finishes.

"YES SIR!" we all say, saluting him on the way out. Then, I turn and find myself face to face with Oluo.

"You're going to pay for what you did, you little brat." he sneers, but in a teasing way. I could tell he was still very embarrassed.

"You should have heard yourself scream!" I reply, taunting him. He growls and lunges. Luckily, I already predicted that. Levi definitely picked well. Oluo is really good. But, not as good as me apparently. It's funny. You would thing being blind would be a disadvantage, but it's really helping me. Although, I do wish to see the world and my friends. I wonder what everything looks like. I wonder what colors look like.

Oluo lunges and I easily sidestep him. Might as well toy with him for a bit. Every move he does, I simply dodge it. He punches, I step back. He roundhouse kicks, I spun to the left. I could sense his frustration.

"Okay, what the fuck? Are you going to fight or not?" he asks. I shrug.

"If you say so."

I decide to attack him first. I run to his left, act like i'm going to chop his neck, then pivot to the right, coming at him with a combo punch and kick, to his kneecap and shoulder blade. In his momentary weakness, I come at him with a sideways axe kick to his neck. Oluo crumbles to the floor. I won.

I kind of feel bad for him, so I go over and offer to help him up. Obviously, Oluo being Oluo, he didn't accept my help, and hobbled up on his own.

"Holy shit." I turned around to see Petra, Eld, and Gunter staring at us.
"Tch. Not bad." It was Captain Levi. I didn't realize he was watching us.

"Damn, kid, that hurt like a bitch." Oluo admitted, rubbing his shoulder blades. I run the back of my neck, feeling bad.
"Sorry about that," I sheepishly say.
"Don't be. I was going easy on you, because I felt bad." he says, as everyone else rolls their eyes.

"Oi, brat. How old are you?" Levi asks me.

I'm thirteen, almost fourteen though. Should I make myself sound older or younger? I go with older. It might make them see me as a little bit more than a child.

"Almost 14," I say and the others (besides Levi, of course) widen their eyes in shock.
"Damn, that's young to be in the scouts," Eld says and Petra nods. I shrug, not knowing what to say.

"Tch. Okay brats, you guys have the rest of today off and tomorrow is cleaning day." Levi says, then walks back inside. After he was out of earshot, the rest of the squad groaned. I laughed at their feelings. They were sick of all of the cleaning.

"You're laughing now, but wait until the actual cleaning starts. You're doomed."

*time skip*
I know what Oluo meant by his words now. It's only been half an hour and I feel like chucking the water bucket into Captain Levi's smug, emotionless little smirk. I had to clean half of the top floor, and Petra had already warned me to do it well the first time, or else I'd have to do it all over again. I'm used to cleaning and all, but Levi is different. At least my abusive father would drunkenly fall asleep and forget about it. Levi doesn't let a spot go. I saw him yell at Gunter when there was dust on the flip side of the table. This isn't how I wanted my time with the scouts to go.

So, I did the only reasonable thing. I smelled out every speck of dust, and cleaned. And cleaned some more. I didn't want to do it a second time, so I made sure to do it properly the first time. Maybe I'll clean better than Captain Cleak Freak himself. When I finished, after an hour, which isn't that bad if you ask me, I walked out, back aching, looking for Levi to give me the 'all clear'. I finally found him, walking out of Eld's cleaning room.

"What are you doing out here, Cadet?" he asked, pulling the cloth over his mouth down. He was in a cleaning outfit, and now I'm tempted to see Oluo in it.

"I finished, sir." I said, beckoning to come up and see for himself. He followed me into my room and checked it. Levi walked into every corner and swiped his finger against it, looking for any dirt or dust. After about five minutes of searching, he gave me the 'good to go'. I proudly smiled and went back down to rub it into the others faces. I saw them all working in the same room. Why was that allowed? They had less work than me now! Petra was wiping down the windows, sweat beading her face. Oluo was cleaning the table, pausing every few seconds to take a quick break. Eld was mopping the floor, exhausted from bending over for so long, and Gunter was supposed to be cleaning the walls, but was laying against it, out of breath.

This, ladies and gentleman, was humanities greatest squad.

I wish people could see them now.

Gunter started to get up, when his eyes wandered around and spotted me.

"What are you doing here?" he asked in a hushed whisper. "You need to start cleaning your area. Trust me, you don't want to get into any trouble with the Captain when it comes to cleaning. Anything else would be decently fine, but not cleaning." he was ushering me out. I was touched that he was trying to 'save me' from Levi, but In better than that.

"I finished."

"Tsk, tell that to the Captain." Oluo said.

"I did." They all turned to me in shock.

"Are you a clean freak too?!" Oluo asked in disbelief. I shook my head.

"Quite the opposite, actually. I have some... experiences, let's call it, with cleaning." I reply. The rest of them groaned. "Also, how come you all only have to do this? I had to clean half of the top floor!"

"No, we work together to clean all of our parts." Eld said.

"We work very fast, though." Oluo boasted and I raised my eyebrows.

"We're still on the first room." Petra admitted. Oluo rolled his eyes.

"Care to help?" Gunter hopefully asked. I laughed.

"No way in hell. My back feels like it's gonna fall off." I say, walking out. Maybe I'll feel bad and help them later.
Probably not.
