chapter twelve

They all stared at me in shock.

"You WHAT?!?!?!?!" they screamed, almost making me fall out of the tree.

"I- er.." I start, but get cut off by about fifty voices.

"You didn't tell us?"
"Are we not trustworthy?"
"I can't believe it!"
"Seriously Y/n?" I cut them all off.

"Guys! GUYS!" I yell, and they pause to look at me. "It's because I answered that question correctly. You know, the one that Erwin asked on the day Sawney and Bean died?" Their eyes light up in recognition.

"Ohhh that question. Yeah, I knew the answer but didn't want to give it to him." Oluo cockily said, and the rest of us rolled our eyes.

"Mmhmm. Suuurrreee. Anyways, I had a feeling that there were a few traitors, and I told him, and he told me to meet him and a few others in the mess hall at 1 am the next morning. So I snuck out and we made a plan." I explain. I can still sense the fact that the others are offended. "I had orders not to tell anyone. Sorry. I really am, and I really wanted to tell you guys but I couldn't."

Petra ruffles my hair.

"You know we can't stay mad at you forever." she lovingly says.

"I can." Oluo butts in.

"No you can't."

"Yes I can!"

"Can not!"

"Can too!"

"Uh uh!"

"Okay, fine. Not really. But I could if I tried to! You're lucky that I'm not!" Oluo protests, pouting like a child. The rest of us laugh. Suddenly, we see a yellow signal flare go into the air.

"Did we succeed?" Gunther asks, question directed at me. I shrug.

"I have no idea."

"Well then, let's head back, shall we?" Eld asks, and all of us boost forward using our gear. "Y/n don't injure yourself more by going too fast or something like that, got it?" I nod.

As we were flying away, we just talked.

"Thanks to you, Eren, we can not figure out who the female titan really is." Petra says. I decide not to tell them that I think it's Annie. We're still not positive on that.

"But I didn't even do anything," Eren said, and I could tell he seemed a bit... sad.

"But you believed in us. That's all that matters."

"Oh, quit acknowledging the kid, Petra. All he did was whine and complain the whole time." Oluo said.

I smirked, smelling the air real quick.

Nice try, Oluo.

"I guess the two of you guys ended up surviving after all, but it doesn't count until we get back inside the walls. Until we do, our expedition isn't over."

"Okay, geez, we get it." I say, rolling my eyes.

"Also, just because you survived, doesn't hide the fact of you guys whining the whole entire way back."

"You really have no room to talk, Oluo. I quite vividly recall both you and Petra pissing your pants and crying like babies on your first expedition. At least these two weren't like you guys when you started out." Eld said, smirking and knowing he hit a nerve.

"WAIT REALLY?!" I screamed, eyes wide.

"AHHHHHHHH!!! I THOUGHT YOU SAID THAT YOU WOULDN'T BRING IT UP ANYMOOOORRRREEE!!" Petra wailed, and Eren and I stared at both her and Oluo, eyes huge.
