Keefe's POV

I wipe my sweaty hands on my jeans.

I'm standing in front of Sophie's door. I haven't rung the bell or knocked yet. I'm too nervous. Maybe this was a bad idea.

I shake the thought away and raise my hand up and knock before I can walk away.

"Who are you?" A sharp voice asks.

I look up. I see a guy with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes. "I—I'm Keefe." I stutter.

He scans me up and down, "Well. You can leave now." He goes to close the door.

"Grady!" A woman with ringlets cascading down her back. Deep blue eyes compliment her skin tone.

"Hi. Are you here for Sophie?" She gently greets.

I nod my head.

"Hey! Who's at the door?" Sophie's head peeks out. "Oh hey Keefe!"

I squeezes past her parents and grabs my hand. She drags me far away. When we stop I look at her. Dark green skinny jeans, a red off the shoulder blouse, and a pair brown ankle boots. I look up to her face gold eyeliner and clear lip gloss. Her hair is styled in a messy french braid. She looked amazing.

"You look...amazing!" I exclaim taking her hands into mine.

She blushes and looks down, "Thanks! You look great too."

We stand there awkwardly. I clear my throat, "Let's get going." I guide her to my car.

Once we are both seated and buckled I drive away.

...

A bit later I pull into a parking spot. "Keefe? Where are we?"

Sophie's eyes dart in every which direction. I get out of the car and run to the other side. I help Sophie out.

Together we walk toward a cluster of trees.

We walk in silence until we reach our destination.

"Wow!" Sophie exclaims breathlessly.

I strung lights into the branches. Blankets and pillows are on the floor. A big white sheet is hung between two trees. A projector is places in the back. A picnic basket lays in the midst of everything.

I take her hand and walk over to the blankets. We sit down and I turn on the movie. The intro to Enola Holmes begins.

I take out 2 sandwiches and give one to her.

"So, what do you think?" I curiously ask.

She looks me in the eyes and says, "I love it!" She smiles at me bringing a smile to my face.

...

We are about half way through the movie. Sophie leans over and rests her head on my shoulder. My body tenses up. Stiffly I wrap my arm around her. She curls into me more.

...

The movie ended I look over to Sophie. She rested her head on my shoulder halfway through.

She's fast asleep. I smile at her and lay my head on her's.

Slowly I drift off.
