When he opened the door for me, he greeted me with a slow kiss on my lips. Then he led me to the spacious balcony overlooking the backyard, which was really just acres of woods. But it wasn't the woods that took my breath away. It was the twinkling lights that adorned the railing and hung above our heads. As if that wasn't enough, the main dish was lasagna which was one of my absolute favorites. And there was a platter of chocolate everythings; strawberries, almonds, truffles, cupcakes, cake, cheesecake, practically anything I could think of.
My food baby is going to be the size of Mars.
Kol pulled out my seat and sat across from me.
"If you keep feeding me like this, I will let you put a ring on my finger in a week," I joked.
He didn't hesitate to respond with a mischievous grin, "That's the idea." I laughed.
"Who made all this?" I asked him with my eyes focused on the large piece of lasagna on my plate. My mouth was salivating.
"Thank Lucy. If I'd tried to cook, you definitely wouldn't have that look on your face right now."
I looked up at him and he seemed almost embarrassed at admitting he wasn't exactly a Gordon Ramsey.
I wanted to tease him but he was being very thoughtful and I appreciated him very much at the moment, mostly because chocolate was my one and only true love.
We enjoyed dinner together, asking each other a zillion questions, all ranging from what's your favorite color to what's been the happiest moment of your life.
When he'd said that the happiest moment of his life was the second his eyes landed on mine and he could feel our souls call out to each other, I didn't know what to say.
I'm not sure if I could ever grasp the intensity of the bond he felt to me in that instant. When he described that moment for his perspective, it felt like he was describing a scene from a movie.
I knew in less than two months I would feel the same way he does about me. But I found it slightly unfair that I would never experience that specific moment -- knowing that he was my soulmate, my forever companion.
Humans really do suck. Why didn't we get that?
I think I would've been a badass lycan, if I say so myself. Well, at least Kol would pass on some of his superpowers to me. Now that was cool.
"Mon amour?"
"Huh?" I looked up to find him standing, offering me his hand.
"Are you ready to go?"
Right. I had a bone to pick with him about that. However that didn't stop me from following him out his room, down the stairs and into a lit path through the woods. There were more twinkling lights and something told me Lucy hadn't done this part.
"About that, Mr. Martel, I would like to know why the heck you want me to walk with you through the woods at 7pm. Are you planning on murdering me? Or are you going to let the negative degree weather do that for you?"
He chuckled in amusement. "Love, actually, you won't be walking."
I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows, "What?"
He let go of my hand and proceeded to take off his shirt.
My eyes widened, "So a strip tease is what we're doing. In the middle of the woods? Really, Kol? Thought you were a bit more classy, but you get points for creativity."
He playfully glared at me with yellow eyes, letting me know that both him and Zeon were semi-offended by my little comment.
I turned around after chuckling, giving him privacy. Oh I was going to enjoy getting under their skin.
