I woke up in a large room, it was different than the one I'd woken up in yesterday.

There was a joint bathroom and clothes had been laid out on my bed, so I decided to take a shower before joining the others for breakfast.

About 30 minutes later, I was dressed in a tight, grey, cropped long sleeve, and light wash mom jeans along with brand new undergarments. My guess is Ava or Penelope let me steal one of their new sets. That reminds me, Ava and I need to talk. Yesterday, her anger controlled her actions and I'm worried about her. I'm sure she's feelin guilty this morning.

I brushed my black hair out and walked out of the room. I made my way downstairs. This time, I counted two flights meaning that I'd stayed in the third floor. Damn, I wanted to be this kind of rich.

I walked into the kitchen and spotted Devon cooking alone, without a shirt on. I'd seen guys shirtless before but Dev's physique was impressive. I, myself enjoyed the gym but we were not on the same level. I barely had an outline of my abs while his muscles were all much more prominent. I wonder how much time he spends training.

"You done darling? Or would you like to admire with the pants off as well?" He turned around with a devious smirk but I wasn't letting him win this one.

"I've seen better." My smirk was equally as devious as his. He'd won my friendship yesterday with a pack of frozen peas; I was comfortable around him.

His smirk turned into a frown.

"You've seen what?" Dev's mouth didn't move. That wasn't him.

I whipped my head around to find Kol. This morning he wore grey sweats, a black t-shirt, and running shoes. The tee hugged his chest, tightly. And I would have drooled if it wasn't for the fact that his glare was pointed at me this time.

"What?" I stupidly asked.

He looked at Devon disapprovingly. "Devon, put a damn shirt on. And you" he pointed a finger at me, "follow me."

I didn't understand why he looked upset, but I figured his house, his rules or whatever.

He waited for me to get close before we walked up to the third floor and into a study. It looked very...professional. Maybe he's a businessman or something.

As soon as he closed the door behind us he pulled my body into a hug. "I'm sorry I didn't check up on you, Alice. But I had to talk things through with Ava. I won't have her hurt you again." A low growl vibrated through his chest.

"It wasn't anything serious. I just bruise easily." I talked into his broad chest.

He furrowed his eyebrows as he pulled away, "Bruise?"

"Uh..." He grabbed my wrist and pulled my sleeve up.

I expected dull purple fingerprints to rest on my arm but there was nothing there, "Um, I- I guess it healed." I retracted my arm from his hold as I looked up at his eyes, "see it really was nothing."

I don't know how the bruise vanished so quickly. Maybe Dev's frozen peas had helped more than I thought. Either way, I was glad it was gone.

His face was unreadable. He just pulled me into him and inhaled my scent as he laid his head on top of mine. After a few seconds he pulled away and he sat behind his desk while I took a seat in one of the chairs on the opposite side.

"Listen baby, after you left yesterday I talked to Ava about a lot of things." I'm glad they talked but what really caught my attention was the pet name. His little term of endearment made me feel a little flutter in my stomach.
