Ava and Penelope gasped. Everyone tensed and Devon stepped away from me as if I had an explosive attached to my back. I looked around confused.

In a second, the man who spoke was right in front of my face. I could feel his exhale at the top of my head.

I look up at his eyes. They're dark blue pools with a swirl of gray. His eyes were beautiful, and the rest of his face was gorgeous. My words did not do any justice to the vibrant pink of his lips, the sharp structure of his face, or the darkness of his black hair. God was unfair.

He inhaled. His fists clenched to his sides as Ava flared her nose and threw him the dirtiest glare she was capable of. She came over to me before he could say anything else.

She placed a smile on her face. I'm sure anyone in the room could tell it was fake. After all, it looked like she was ready to murder the man in front of me about a second ago.

"Alice, this is Kol. That one is Cyan and that one is Mikael." She pointed to the figures by the door. Jeez, were they all hot? I want in on those genes, or those jeans. Either works for me. Kidding. Cyan was taken.

After shooting a smile at the two men who made their way towards the living area, my eyes traveled back to Kol. Kol, I liked his name. It fit.

"Welcome, Alice. I hope Devon here has treated you well." I think it was Mikael, yes, Mikael who spoke. My ears caught the English accent. Huh.

A low growl traveled through the air? A growl? Did they have a dog?

"I'm sure he did." Kol's voice was strong...and beautiful. I don't think I've ever called a person's voice beautiful, at least not someone who wasn't part of One Direction.

Our eyes met as he spoke. He was intense. I couldn't stop staring. I'm sure everyone noticed. Cue the pink on my cheeks.

"Ava. Kitchen." My eyebrows scrunched for a second, but then I realized he was talking to Ava. So I looked away as they both made their way towards my favorite room in this house.

"Darling, you can sit. These idiots don't bite." Cyan and Mikael threw Devon a glare as I sat on the couch.

"Right. Uh hi I'm Alice. Nice to meet you." I pulled a loose hair behind my ear as I spoke. I wasn't usually shy, but they were all pretty intimidating. Even Penelope's stare had me looking down at the ground. At least, before I realized I was being a little silly.

Cyan's voice had me looking up at his face, "It's nice to meet you too. I hope you can forgive Kol for being a little...weird." He spit out that last word as it he had never once used it to describe Kol before.

If he went around stating "mine" wherever he went then I gathered he should be accustomed to it by now. What was he referring to?

"Right, mmm what did he mean by 'mine'?" I asked, "did he refer to this house or something? I can stay somewhere else if it bothers you, any of you-"

Devon interrupted me with a knowing look on his face. "Puh-lease flower, trust me when I tell you that he is not one bit bothered about you staying with us."

"If he was, I would slap him silly."

"Please. If you ever tried it, he'd drown your 'baby' before you even got within 3 feet of him, D." Mikael chimed in with a smirk.

"But he's right Alice. He doesn't mind and we certainly don't either." He smiled warmly at me and then turned to Cyan and slapped his back before he made his way upstairs, "Now, we ought to go have a shower. We'll be down for movie night in a bit Elope."
