It's just a dress...

Mikey took a deep breath, letting it out slowly as he unclenched his fists. "I can do this" he whispered to himself. "It's not a big deal". He looked over to his mirror one last time before leaving his bedroom. He made his way into the main room where everyone was hanging out, keeping his eyes on his phone to distract himself.

"Uhh, Mikey?" Leo said looking up from the video game he and Ralph were playing.

"Hm?" Mikey said keeping his eyes glued to the screen. He already knew what they were going to say. But he tried to play it off like everything was normal. Nothing was odd about this. He was just wearing what he liked and that was that.

Raph looked up and busted out laughing. "What are you wearing?!"
Their stood Mikey, wearing a vibrant orange dress that cut off at his mid-thigh. Fishnet sleeves covered his arms, a sleeveless hoodie and knee high socks. (Pictured up above).

Mikey felt his heart sink. Leo started giggling with Raph. Donnie looked up from his project but didn't laugh. He was studying Mikey's facial expression. Mikey didn't seem upset, then again he could have been masking a little too well. "Hm.." He hummed to himself. Mikey did weird things all the time. But something told him this was difderent.

"What?" Mikey asked his brothers in a meek voice. "What's so funny?...it's just a dress" He started to tear up. He knew this would happen. His brothers just didn't understand.

"YOU LOOK RIDICULOUS!" Raph laughed so hard his side's hurt. He keeled over and fell off the couch.

"Awee are you a pretty princess?" Leo said in a mocking tone. He stood up and bowed. "Might I have this dance ma lady?"

"Oh my god stop you're killing me!" Raph wheezed.

Leo walked up to Mikey. "I'd be honored to dance with you princess!" He reached over to grab his hands but Mikey pushed him away. He looked up at his brothers with tears streaming down his cheecks.
Leo's smile dropped. "Mikey?"

Raph looked up and immediately stopped laughing. "Oh, shit-" he sat himself up. "Mikey, what's wrong?"

"Forget it" Mikey said running back to his room.

"Mikey wait!" Leo called out. Mikey slammed his door shut and turned the lock. He flopped down on his bed and burried his face in his pillow as he broke down into sobs.

He didn't expect it to be that bad. He knew they would question it sure. But laughing and Mocking him?

"Why wouldn't they laugh at you?" His inner voice spat. "You're just a freak".
Mikey threw his blanket over himself.

"What was that about?" Raph questioned as he looked to the others.

Donnie sighed. "I don't think he was wearing that as a joke".

"Oh..." Leo said feeling guilt create a pit in his stomach.

"Awe man.." Raph said scratching the back of his neck. "I feel like a total jerk now".

The three of them all walked over to Mikey's bedroom door. Leo gave it a knock. "Mikey? Can we come in?"

When they didn't get an answer Raph cleared his throat. "Please Mikey? We um..we didn't mean to.." he sighed, frustrated with himself. He was never good with words. "Look Mikey we didn't take you seriously and well-"

Raph continued to ramble on, but Mikey put on his headphones to tune out the world.
