Love You Forever [Part Two]

Raphs POV

I pulled away from the hug and look her in the eyes. "Shadow, none of this is your fault" I told her.

She shook her head not wanting to believe me. "No...I was trying to get a cup of water. I dropped the glass while trying to get down from the counter" she cried. "It broke and Dad got mad at me so I ran to Casey. He hid me in his closet. He never would have gotten hurt if it weren't for me!" She cried.

I sighed and placed my hands over her shoulders. "Shadow, look at me" I said in a gentle tone. She looked up from the floor with glossy eyes. "If anyone is at fault here, it's you Dad. Neither of you disereve what he puts you through. It's not right. I hope you know that Shadow".

She sniffled and threw her arms around me. I hugged her back and let her sob into my shoulder.
"Shh, I've got you" I whispered.

If I wasn't so scared to leave Casey's side I would march right over to dipshits house and make him regret he was ever born. My brothers wouldn't allow it either. Logically I knew that I couldn't. For one, we had to keep our identity a secret. Well, as much as we could that is. There was a handful of people who were the acception. Casey, Shadow, April...they were the good ones.
It also wouldn't be right. We were here to protect. Not purposly cause trouble. But if he as so much lays another finger on either of them he's going down.

"Raph?" A soft voice spoke.

I gasped and looked up from where I was sitting next to the cot Casey was on. He woke up! His voice was raspy and a bit quiet, but just audible enough for me to hear him. I placed my hand over his.

"Yes, I'm here Casey" I spoke softly.

"Where's Shadow?" He whispered.

"She's here. She's safe Casey. I'll go get her" I said getting up.

"Wait-" He said reaching out. I held his hand and went back to him.

"Yes Casey?" I asked.

"I've been meaning to tell you this for a while..."

"What is it?" I asked getting closer.

"I..." He hesitated and let out a small sigh. "I could of died tonight. Any night with that monster could be my last. I have no doubt that he wouldn't think twice before killing me. He's come close before I'm sure..." He whispered. I held his hand a little tighter. "So...I want to tell you this before I never get the chance to. Raph...you mean so much to me. I love hanging out with you. I love your jokes. I love your laugh. I love the way you can make me smile no matter what. I love how strong you are, and not just physicaly". I felt my heart flutter in my chest. He looked into my eyes and smiled that cute smile of his. "I love you".

My cheecks became very warm all the sudden. "I-you...You l-love me?!" I stuttered. He nodded.

"I understand if you don't feel the same. I just...wanted you to know" he said.

I shook my head. "Casey, I...Um, well-I mean" I was too flustered to collect my thoughts, let alone talk. Guess I'd have to show him instead. I quickly leaned in and connect our lips. The kiss ended as soon as it started. My whole face felt like it was on fire at this point. He giggled and grabbed my shoulder before pulling me in for another kiss. This one lasted much longer.

We both giggled out of peer joy after pulling away. "You're adorable" he said with a smirk. My eyes widened.

"What?! You're the cute one here!" I said pointing at him.

"Oh shush you" he said pulling me into another kiss. This time when I pulled away we weren't alone. Donnie was standing in the doorway in shock.

"AH!" I yelped and pulled away so far back my shell hit the wall. "I-HE-NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE!-U-UM...CPR!" I said. I'm sure my face was as red as my mask.

Donnie just laughed. "Relax Raph, it's cool. I was wondering when you two would finally kiss" he giggled. I groaned in embarrassment and hid my face in my hands as he walked over. "How are you feeling Casey?" He asked.

"Awesome" he said still smirking.

"What about physically, Romeo?" Donnie chuckled.

He shrugged. "Been better. Did I break anything doc?"

I looked up at Donnie as he looked over his clipboard. "Uh...yeah actually" he said sheepishly knowing how I'd react after giving the news. "Fractured ribs, left wrist, and nose". My hands balled into fists. "Other than that, there's a bit of bruising under your eye and your sides but no internal bruising or bleeding thankfully..."

"Casey...how long has he been hurting you?"I asked looking at the floor.

"As long as I can remember" he mumbled.

I almost punched the wall behind me at that. I didn't want to scare him though. Now it made sense whenever he or Shadow flinched after someone yelled or raised a hand near them. I took a moment to take a deep breath, letting it out slowly. I held onto his hand, intertwining our fingers.

"I'm sorry Casey" Donnie said. "You and your sister can stay here for as long as you need".

"Really?" Casey asked looking up at him.

"Of course" Donnie replied. "It's not safe at your Dad's. I'd much rather you stay here where it's safe".

Casey smiled as he teared up. "Thank you Donnie...that means so much".

Donnie nodded with a smile. "I'm gonna go talk to Father about it. Get some rest, okay?" He said as he walked out.
