(Katherine's POV)
September 18, 1824“I perhaps know where she might be,” I said. I was wondering where she might be hiding when it occurred to me that she might be there, in a place that no one else knows about except me.
“I think you said the same thing last time, so that's why we're here,” Dr. Branson said sarcastically.
“Like she told me where she might be!” I got a little annoyed with him.
“Wait for me till I get back,” I said and left the cave. I quickly went home and then went into my secret room. I picked up the dagger, the weapon I had made. The weapon that was our only hope to kill Cassandra. I put it in my purse and left the house.

I was walking on the road thinking that those three must be waiting for me in that forest. We wasted our time searching for Cassandra. She is such a cunning woman that I got caught in her trap. I am so stupid. I kept cursing myself all the way. After a few minutes, I reached the forest where they were waiting for me. I waved my hand and told them to follow me.“Where are we going now?” Mr. Cruise asked me.
“Please don't ask anything. Just do what I am saying.” I said.
“But Mrs. Milton, are you sure about this?” Dr. Branson asked.
“Trust me,” I said and started walking.
They started following me. They all remained silent all the way. After walking for about two miles, we reached our destination. Now, we were standing in front of a mansion. This was the place where Cassandra lives. “I know this is your first time here. This is Cassandra's hideout.” I said.
“No way! She can't be here.” Mr. Johnson said.
“Absolutely. If she was supposed to be hiding here, she wouldn't have challenged us to find her.” Dr. Branson said.
“She's here, believe me,” I said.
“Then why did we go into the woods to find her? Why did she vanish from that cave? Why did she kill that girl?" Mr. Johnson asked curiously.
“So that she can do whatever she wants. That cave, that girl, everything was just a distraction. All of that was just a distraction and we fell into her trap.” I said.
Everyone went silent for a moment. We were just inches away from our target, but still, we weren't moving. Mr. Cruz broke the silence and asked, “What's the plan?”

(Janet's POV)
November 22, 2025“What? No. It can't end like this. It can't.” I said, flipping through the pages of the journal. Some pages were torn and others were blank. As I flipped through the pages, I found a note in the folds.
I killed her, but I couldn't defeat her. She won even after dying.
—Katherine Milton
I couldn't understand the meaning of this note.
After reading all the information written in this journal, one thing became clear to me that both Cassandra and Katherine Milton were witches. But I was not able to understand that if Cassandra was dead then how did she come back. Is Emily Bennett the reincarnation of Cassandra or is there some other mystery behind this? And as far as me being a witch is concerned, am I a descendant of Katherine Milton and that is why I am also a witch? But even if I am her descendant, how can I be a witch because my parents are humans and how can a human give birth to a witch? I closed the journal and then closed my eyes to calm myself down so I could connect the dots to solve this mystery.

Mom and Dad were watching a movie together. They were happy and I didn't want to spoil their happiness, but I had no choice.I went towards them and said, “Mom, Dad, I need to talk to you about something.”
“What is it?” Dad asked nonchalantly, both of them were glued to the TV.
“My conversation is more important than this movie, so please turn it off?” I said a little harshly.
“What happened? Why are you behaving this way?” Mom asked.
“Because I am angry. I am angry at both of you.” I said.
“Why, what happened? What have we done?” Dad asked in surprise.
“You both hid a very big thing from me, which I found out.” I said.
“What thing Janet?” Mom asked.
“I am a witch.” I said sternly.
“What!” Dad said.
Both of them stood up hastily and I could see the fear and shock on their faces. It felt like I had revealed something that they never wanted me to know.
“This is not a joke, Janet,” said Mom.
“I am not joking either. I am a witch and Jeremy knows that too, so why was I not told until now?” I yelled.
“Jeremy? When did he tell you all this?” Dad asked me.
“That is not the answer to my question, Dad,” I said.
“Jany, calm down. W-We will ta-talk about it later,” Mom stuttered in panic and Dad interrupted her, “No Amanda. We should tell her everything. After all, it is useless to try to hide the truth when it is already out and she has every right to know the truth anyway.”
“It is true. You are a witch and we never told you.” Dad took a deep breath and added, “If you want to know everything, I'll tell you, but that will hurt you even more.”
“I'm all ears,” I said.
“Janet, you're adopted,” Dad said.
“What?” I asked, shocked.
“Yes, you're adopted,” Mom repeated.
