"You have to pay for it Janet." Her voice was resonating inside my head.
She will do something vicious. She will definitely hurt someone close to me.... someone, I love. Dad! Alice! Will she make Jeremy suffer more? I have to do something. Very soon. I was speaking in my mind.
Alice was more likely to be in danger because she was her neighbour.
When I was thinking about Alice, I felt some negative vibes. I picked up my phone and dialed her no. I called her thrice but no one picked up. The fourth time I called her, someone picked up and said, "hello."
"Hey... Ali?" I asked because that was not her voice.
"Janet, it's Hayley (Alice's mom)." She said.
"Hello aunty, can I talk to Alice?" When I asked, she started sobbing.
"Ja... Janet... Alice is missing." She said crying.
For a moment I could not believe what I heard. I freaked out and my body started to shake in fear.
"Hello... hello Janet? Are you there?" She asked.
"Huh? I... what? How long she has been missing?" I asked and she told me that she has been missing since morning.
I cut the line and immediately rushed to my car.
I know where she is, perhaps!?

(Jeremy's pov)
Why did I meet her? Why did I try to help her? Why did I step out of my house? Why? I spoke in my mind and started sobbing as all the memories of that day were running through my mind. I was so happy on that day. I was alone in my house and writing a letter to Janet. I was about to confess to her the next day but that 'next day' never came into my life.
*************Flashback*************
Jeremy: Yeah! It's almost done. Now I have to write those three magical words. Those words which I can not speak to her. Oh god, why am I so shy? Why can't I just say...Janet I...lo..lov..love.. you. Yes, I love you Janet. Hah! Finally, I said. But she is not here right now. Stupid me. I don't understand why my confidence gets drown in fathom whenever she is in front of me. Anyway, I will put this letter in her notebook which I am going to return to her tomorrow.
(Jeremy was about to write I love you but the doorbell rang.)
Jeremy: Who is this?.
Outside the door: Jeremy can you do me a favour?.
Jeremy: Oh Mrs Bennett, please come in.
Elsa Bennett: Actually, I need a hand if you don't mind.
Jeremy: Of course I don't mind. What happened?
Elsa Bennett: The door of my car has got locked. Can you just check it?
Jeremy: O yeah sure....
(A loud thud!)

The moment I stepped out of my house everything changed and my life turned into hell.
"Why did I opened the door? Why did I? If I hadn't opened the door on that day I would have been alive today. I wouldn't been have to suffer here. I wouldn't been have to get punished for cursing a beast...."
"....ahhhaaa...." As I whispered the word 'beast' I was hit by another lightning strike. I can not put into words how painful it was. The only thing I could do was sit there and let my silent tears caress my cheeks.

(Janet's POV)
I stopped in front of her house and got out of my car. I went to the main door and kicked it hard. The door opened with a loud thud and I went inside without any hesitation.
"Cassandra!" I shouted so loudly that the whole city must have heard. A middle-aged woman came out and stood in front of me.
"Where is Alice?" I asked furiously.
"Come out," she said and a girl of my age came out slowly with tiny steps. She was shaking in fear and her cheeks were stained with tears.
"Alice" I whispered and immediately ran towards her and engulfed her into a tight hug.
"Ja..Jany... this woman has got mad. S..she is calling herself some..Cass... Cassandra... she is a psycho Janet...She sl..slapped me and s..she is telling that I am gonna d..die..." She said and started wailing.
"No Ali...I am here now. She will do nothing. Nothing's gonna happen to you dear." I said. My heart was aching to see my best friend like that.
"I told you, you have to pay for it," Cassandra said, coldly.
I turned to her and punched her hard in the face. She fell and her lips started bleeding.
"Aahhhhhh!"
I heard Alice scream and saw her lying on the floor. I knelt and wrapped my arms around her shoulder to help her stand up but what I saw just left me shocked.
There was blood in the corner of her lower lip.
HER LIPS WERE BLEEDING TOO.
"Alice you are li....linked!" I whispered suspiciously.
