Standing on the roof, I was looking at the sky. Millions of celestial bodies were twinkling on the dark bed. I was connecting those bright dots with imaginary lines. I connected them and drew a picture of a random woman and whispered, “if you were alive, would my life have been different, mother?” I sighed and felt sad for her. Though I have never seen her before in life, she is still my real mother.

I was immersed in my thoughts and suddenly my eyes fell on the bracelet tied on my wrist. It was a silver bracelet with a small metal heart attached to it. Only half part of the heart was attached to it and the other half was tied on Jeremy's wrist. This bracelet was a birthday gift from Jeremy to me. I caressed the bracelet and thought that it's been a while since I spoke to him. I wanted to summon him, but after what I did, I didn't have the courage to face him. He must have been very hurt. He must have been hurt because of me. Even though it was late, he at least told me the truth. It was because of him that I came to know everything. If he hadn't told me that I am a witch, I would never have known myself. I would never have known that I am adopted and that my birth mother is dead. I would never have known that my biological father is none other than my history professor. I wish he were here so I could apologize to him.

It's so dark, so disgusting, so cold. It's so cold here and there's no one to hold me. No one to give me warmth, comfort, and love. No one at all. I miss my home, my family, my friends, and… and Janet. I miss everyone so much. I don't know how long I'll be stuck here. This Spell World is nothing better than hell.

“I want to get out of here so badly.” I was muttering when a voice came from behind, “We can't. We can't escape unless she uses us for her needs.” I turned in the direction the voice was coming from and saw Professor Morgan, who was standing behind me.

He came to me and said, “Jeremy, we are trapped here and all we can do is wait for our turn.”

“And then? Do you think we will all be free after that? No. We have to rot in this hell. Well, I would have to say worse than hell.” I said.

“Jeremy, we are dead. Even if we are freed, we cannot go back to the world we came from,” he said.

Tears welled up in my eyes and I screamed, “Why are we so helpless? Why is this devil woman using us?”

Suddenly I felt my voice choking and I collapsed on the floor. I felt an intense pain as if someone had electrocuted me.

“Jeremy, stop. You must not say anything bad about any witch here. You might be punished.” he said.

“But she is a beast and…” Before I could say anything worse, Professor Morgan shushed me and said, “One more word and you will have to face the consequences.”

“Jeremy, I understand your feelings, but we are not allowed to say anything bad about any witch. This world is especially for them and we are humans. If they hear us, they will hurt us.” he said.

“Leave me alone,” was all I could say. He slowly disappeared and I was all alone again. I sat down on the floor, hugging my knees to my chest and sobbing. Suddenly a familiar voice echoed in my ears, “I'm sorry Jeremy. I have hurt you. I'm so sorry. I wish you were here.”

“I'm sorry Jeremy. I have hurt you. I'm so sorry. I wish you were here.” I whispered and heard a familiar voice saying, “it's okay Janet.” I turned around and saw Jeremy standing in front of me.

“Jeremy!” I said.

“I thought you wouldn't come here.” I said.

“And why did you think so?” He asked but I had no answer to his question so I stood silent.

“Janet, I am not angry at you.” He said and smiled softly. I noticed that he looked very tired and weak, as if he was in some pain.

“Jeremy, are you okay?” I asked him.

He said with a sad smile, “Don't worry about me, Janet. I just want you to be safe and happy.” He stood silent for a moment and then said, “Janet I…I lo... Leave it. Did you read the journal?”

I sighed and said, “Yes, but some pages of that journal were torn and it was not less than any nightmare for me to know the truth wrapped in those pages. Do you know that I am an adopted child?”

“What? Adopted?” he asked in surprise and when I told him everything, he was even more surprised.

We were talking to each other when Jeremy suddenly started choking and fell to the ground. He screamed in pain and suddenly a huge, bright green light appeared in front of us and the light started pulling him towards it.

“Jeremy!!” I screamed.

I didn't understand what was happening, but I used my magical powers to stop the light from pulling him towards it. I used all my strength to stop it, but it was all in vain and in the blink of an eye that mysterious light engulfed him.

“Noooo!... Jeremy!....” I screamed, but he disappeared in a flash along with the light.
