"Hello Janet, hello Alice. I hope you're both doing well. Oh, I almost forgot, it's your birthday today. Happy birthday to you, Janet," Cassandra said mockingly, extending her hand for a handshake. I crossed my arms and said, "Don't waste our time. Do what you need to do, and then get out of our lives."

She smirked and then said, "fine. Let's start the procedure."

"Janet, are you sure?" Alice asked worriedly as tears began to fill her eyes.

"You have to stay strong." I said.

Cassandra began chanting, and gradually the weather turned stormy. Strong winds blew like arrows, and the clouds thundered loudly. Soon, heavy rain began, and the wind was so strong that we felt like we would be blown away. Suddenly, a blinding light appeared before us, preventing us fromopening our eyes properly. Gradually, the glow of the light began to dim, and two human figures began to emerge from it.

"Jeremy? Professor Morgan?" I whispered. They both stood before us, confusion evident on their faces. They seemed oblivious to what just happening. Before I could ask them anything, Cassandra spoke up, "Welcome, my dear pawns."

"What's going on? Why are we here?" Prof. Morgan asked timidly.

(Jeremy's POV)

The situation was dilemmatic and I, out of the blue, ran towards Janet and said, "happy birthday Janet. I-I am sorry for not wishing you earlier. It's not that I didn't want to, but every time you see me, you get worried and sad, that's why I thought that I will not come in front of you today. I am sorry, I just don't wanted to make you sad today." I said everything in one breath.

She chuckled and said, "it's okay and thank you."

"Drama over? May I proceed further?" Cassandra shouted.

"Wait," Janet said sternly, raising her index finger towards Cassandra.

Cassandra rolled her eyes and gave us some privacy finally, then I and Janet moved quite far away from everyone present there.

She took out a folded paper and smirked and then asked, "what's this Mr Branson?"

"Huh?" I got confused and didn't understand what she wants to say. She smiled and then opened the folded paper and held it in front of me and asked again, "what is this?"

When I saw the letter I had written, I was shocked and my face turned red like a tomato.

"I-I Janet I actually...um...I..." I started stuttering and felt like I'm losing my confidence.

"Why didn't you ever tell me, Jeremy? Why didn't you ever tell me you loved me?" she asked.

"I'm sorry, Janet. I wanted to tell you, but... I was scared..." I said softly, the last word almost inaudible, but she heard it all perfectly.

She giggled and said, "Hey! Afraid of what?"

"I love you Jeremy," she said and tears started filling her eyes. She was about to hug me but she realised that she cannot. I also wanted to hug her tightly and wipe her tears away but look at our fate we can't even touch each other. I can't even touch the love of my life. Could anything be more painful than this?

"I love you Janet." I said and felt some salty liquid rolling down my cheeks.

She wiped her tears and said, "don't cry dear, everything will be okay...Very soon." She paused and then said, "Jeremy, promise me that if something happens to me you will take care of my best friend and my family. Please Jeremy."

"Ofcourse, she's my sister, and your family is also like my family but why are you saying that? Janet, nothing will happen to you." I said timidly because something was wrong. I felt like something terrible is going to happen.

"Please take care of yourself Jeremy. I-I am sorry." She said while sobbing and I asked, "sorry for what?" but she didn't reply and started walking towards Cassandra.

"Janet wait! What are you going to do? Janet please stop!" I yelled, but she didn't listen and kept walking. I started running toward her, but stopped when I realized I was in a large circle of flames. I turned and saw that everyone except Janet and Cassandra are in separate circles of fire.

"What the hell? What are you doing?" Janet fiercely yelled at Cassandra.

"Enough of drama. I was waiting for this moment since ages and now I am not going to wait a single moment." Cassandra said and held a dagger in front of Janet.

"Unlink Alice," Janet said gritting her teeth.

"Take the dagger and stab yourself and then I will unlink her," Cassandra said and I got froze to hear this.

"No...it can't happen. No...never." I whispered and started trembling in fear thinking.
