(Janet's POV)

We stood facing each other and looked into each other's eyes. There was silence all around. So much silence that I could hear my heart beating and it felt like we met after ages. Breaking the silence, he called my name, "Janet" I heard this soft and calm voice after a very long time. For a moment I forgot that he was dead and I ran towards him to hug him. But I couldn't feel his touch.

"I am dead Janet. You can't touch a ghost." he said and I couldn't hold back my tears.

"You have no idea how much I missed you Jeremy" I said.

"I've been trying to see you since the day I died. I miss you too, Janet," he said.

"Then why haven't you come to see me for a whole year?" I asked him.

"I can't come unless you want me to. I'm standing here because you want me to be here, Janet. If you stop thinking about me, I'll have to disappear from your sight." He said.

"No, I won't. I won't stop thinking about you. Not for a second. I'm not going to let you go anywhere, Jeremy." I said sternly and my voice started echoing in the room.

He slowly came up to me and looked at me for a moment and then he said, "I know you have a million questions right now, but before that, I have to tell you something. Something very important."

"What?" I asked curiously.

"Janet, your life is in danger. You're in danger." He said, quite scared.

"What do you mean? Am I going to die?" I asked and to be honest I wish I could die so I could be with him forever.

"No, I'm not going to let you die. I'm not going to let anything happen to you Janet," he said and I saw tears running down his cheeks. Then he stared at me as if he would never see me again.

He was silent for a moment and then finally he asked, "Janet, do you believe this? Do you believe that I committed suicide?"

"I-I don't know. Perhaps I don't. But what happened that day? Were you mur-murdered?" I stuttered. He nodded slowly and I saw the pain in his eyes that made my heart ache.

"Who? I swear I'll rip them in shreds." I said fiercely.

"Cassandra," Jeremy said.

"Cassandra?" I asked, confused.

"She killed me, Prof. Morgan and now she wants to kill you too." After hearing this, I felt as if the ground beneath my feet had slipped away and my heart started pounding in my chest.
"What are you saying?" I stuttered.

"Janet, don't be afraid..." Before he could finish his words, I said, "Prof. Morgan? Is he dead?" and I remembered that Prof. Campbell had told us that Prof. Morgan had left the city.

"Why? And who is this Cassandra? Jeremy, I don't understand anything." I said anxiously.

"Janet calm down, I will tell you everything." He said and then stood silent for a moment and then started speaking again. "Janet, she lives here among us in this city and you have already met her."

"I met her? When?" I asked, confused.

"When you came to my house after hearing that I was dead, who did you see there?" Jeremy asked.

"Some cops, Alice and your parents." I said.

"And?" he asked.

"And... and yes, your neighbor, Mrs. Bennett, she was there. She told me what had happened and she also told me that she was the one to call the police and had informed your parents." I said.

Jeremy closed his eyes and sighed deeply and then said, "She was the one who killed me."

"What?" I said, shocked.

"Yes Janet she killed me. And she's a witch." he said.

"I didn't commit suicide Janet Cassandra killed me." he said and I was frozen at that moment.

"Cassandra! A witch!" I whispered timidly.
