The Devil's fall

Kara looked into Lena's eyes and felt like she could trust this woman. But after all the betrayal, the pain her father has caused her, all her trust has been eaten up. She has to admit herself that, that particular fall was a hard, so hard it caused her to ache, caused her distrust, caused her rage...It was so hard. And for the eternity that she had to rule as queen of Hell, princess of darkness...She forgot that she herself was once a angel filled with love, trust and hope.

The Devil took a deep sigh and looked down to her hands, suddenly starting to play with her ring. "You don't have to tell me Kara, but you should talk about it with someone. Whatever it is. It's really bothering you." Lena softly said and gently stopped Kara from fidgeting. Kara looked back up and felt how her heart fluttered when she saw the worried look on Lena's beautiful face. The last time she ever saw someone care for her was the last time she saw Eve's face, and that was a long, long time ago. She gently held Lena's hand and gave a sad smile. Clearly she must have taken Lena by surprise, since the CEO didn't expect that. "No...I want to tell you Lena. It's just that...That I was hurt and betrayed by my own family, that I stopped telling my story to people." Kara said and Lena gave her a sad smile, clearly knowing the feeling Kara had experienced. She herself was betrayed by her whole family, that she completely lost her trust in people. Kara took a deep breath and was really thankful for Lena's patience, because she didn't know where to start. Finally for a short time of comfortable silence between them, Kara finally told the true story of the Devil:

"Father! Look!" Young Kara yelled, doing a few tricks in the sky. God looked towards her direction and smiled. "That's great my child! With more practice you will become the best." Her father complimented and Kara felt pride swell in her chest. She gave a cheerful smile and fluttered her beautiful white wings, soon joining her other siblings. All soared through the sky, their halo's creating a light so strong as the sun, but one halo was shining the strongest amongst all, and it was Kara's. Yes, she was God's favorite, but what she didn't know that, that was one of the reasons for her fall.

Time has been created and God explained to his children what he's new creation will be: Humanity. All have agreed to help him with his creation and so then light, sky, dry land, oceans, plants, trees, sun, moon and stars were created. Kara was God's left hand. She was the one responsible for teaching her younger siblings how to help, she was responsible for making sure all creations were made.

When Earth has been finally done in a span of 7 days, God gave his favorite angel a proud smile and patted her shoulder. Kara herself was proud and happy to see her father proud, no matter how many times her father tells her that he is proud of her, she always felt happy. But nobody knew that pride was also the cause of her fall.

Despite being the favorite of God, everyday she could feel the jealousy from her siblings. How many times they would talk behind her back and instead of seeing her as a role model or inspiration, they saw her as a threat. But she was at least happy that not all her siblings were jealous of her, only one was proud of her and that was Alex. They were the best of friends and would always support and comfort each other. They were always there for each other when things were though. They loved each other and Kara was happy to have Alex. But she didn't know that Alex would hurt her as well.

After trying to make 'man' perfect, God finally created the very first human, Adam. For a time, while God and Kara looked down on Earth, she had noticed how lonely Adam is. "Father, don't you think Adam is lonely? He has Earth all to himself, all kinds of animals and plants. Shouldn't he have a partner? Someone he can love, to be happy with, to feel comfort?" Kara asked her father and God looked down at her with a raised eyebrow. Once again, he looked down and saw how lonely his creation is. "You are right my child. I shall make a partner for him and this creation shall be named 'woman'." He said and soon he made out of one of Adam's ribs, Eve. A beautiful young woman, that Adam has fallen in love with...But he was not the only one. Yes, it was Kara. She knows that she's not allowed to communicate with them, but she can't stop that feeling of hurt when she sees them make love to each other. She wishes that she was Adam, that she was the one holding Eve in her arms, the one comforting her, the one protecting her...She wanted to be the one for Eve.

And one day she broke that rule.

She couldn't help it, but she felt this pull to Eve. She left Heaven and landed on Earth, and there she saw Eve lying under a tree, enjoying the light breeze and the peace of nature. Kara walked towards the human and when Eve opened her eyes, she saw the angel. "Who are you?" Eve asked and started to back away. Kara noticed this and tried her best to show that she was no threat. "I'm Kara. One of God's angels." Kara simply answered and heard a gasp from Eve. "He's real, you're real." The human slowly walked towards the angel, looking at her in awe and Kara felt how she was falling madly in love for this woman...And from then on they have become lovers. But she didn't know that Eve was the final cause of her fall.

As the days have gone by and their secrets have not been revealed, Kara and Eve continued their routines, at day they would be in their homes, but at night when nobody was looking they would have some alone time and make love to each other. But it also came to an end. On a night, one of the angels, Kal-El, had the permission from God to go to Earth, and then the angel suddenly saw Eve and Kara going into a hidden hut. Of course he followed them and what she saw, was the key to Kara's downfall. As soon his task was done, he reported the relationship to God and he was furious.

Days later Kara stood before God in shame, while her father yelled at her. Everybody was there, all her siblings and when she looked at them...She saw how delighted they were. She saw in their eyes how happy they were to see her get yelled at, happy to see her get humiliated in front of everybody. That's how she felt the pang of betrayal in her heart, but it only got worse when Eve gave her all the fault, telling God that she forced Eve into a relationship and Kara knew that wasn't true. She felt how all her trust has gone away, she has been back stabbed and everybody was happy to see her punishment. "I shall ban you from Heaven, and you Kara will rule Hell for all eternity!" Her father demanded and everybody's eyes widen, and Kara looked into the crowd, seeing nobody fight for her, not even Alex. She looked at Alex with pleading eyes, pleading her to save her, to at least stand for her, but Alex kept quiet and instead gave an apologizing look.

Suddenly God opened a portal to Hell and the other angels pushed her into it. She was falling and falling into darkness, she desperately tried to fly, but to no avail. She hit the ground hard and saw how the portal closed, seeing her fathers angry face, seeing her siblings delighted smiles and faces. She stayed there on the ground crying in pain. She cried for the pain in her heart, how much the betrayal hurt. It was even more painful then the fall itself. After crying Kara was angry, she was angry at her father, at her siblings, at Eve...She was angry at everybody. Nobody showed her mercy...And they say God is merciful, tell that to he Devil and you will see her laugh. She screamed in anger and suddenly there was fire everywhere, demons lurking out of their shadows, kneeling down in front of Kara and gave a clear sign that she is their queen, the ruler of Hell. She stood in front of them, showing power, her once shining Halo became horns, her white wings have been cut off, she felt disgusted having them and burned them in the never ending hellfire's. Her eyes glowed red and she had a wicked smile on her face...She has become the Devil.

From then on Kara lost all hope, trust, love...Everything that was once her, everything that she once believed in. Now she was the Devil and she never let her guard down, she never let herself be vulnerable, she never felt any kind of comforting emotion...All she felt was rage, betrayal, coldness, hatred and revenge.

But all those kinds of bad emotions were swept away, when she suddenly met Lena Luthor...
