Lena was scrabbling around with the machine, filled with Harun-El. The Luthor kept on trying to reverse the effect, just like the notes said, but something seemed off...The Harun-El was not just synthetic, it had magic in it. Of course, her dearest brother would always have some tricks up his sleeves, even when he is tied, gagged and probably knocked out in a damn closet. "For fuck sake!" Lena cursed, slamming her fists onto the keyboard. Gosh, she could already hear Lex's voice saying she should go easy...Well Lex let me tell you to fuck off!Again, for the maybe hundredth time she read through the notes, trying to find any code just anything that could reverse it's effects and release those demons from brainless zombies to actual thinking creatures...Mostly. All of Lena's concentration was on the multiple pieces of paper, that she didn't even notice someone creeping behind her. Right then, she heard a deep growl behind her ear, but before she could even turn around, the compelled demon was shoved away from her in a blur, lading outside the laboratory, completely knocked out...And there...
And there she saw...Kara. The Devil was breathing heavily, her eyes glowing red as she looked at the unconscious demon. And Lena...She was absolutely terrified at the sight of the actual Devil. Her breathing became ragged, seeing the so called 'gentle' woman she learned to love, was in front of her with teared clothes, stained with blood. Flaming horns on her head, black wings with blood red and white feathers. A red crystal on her forehead, with symbols, even symbols running down her arms that had blood red and black veins...And oh God, those dangerous Devil eyes, glowing red...The sight terrified her, and she had the urge to run away, but something was stopping her and she didn't know why...Was her heart screaming to stay?
Kara came back to reality, when her rage finally came down and then she heard the all too familiar heartbeat. And she knew that she had messed up badly, not just messed up, it was a mess worse than Hell before she started to rule it! The Devil turned her head towards Lena and never has she seen so much fear in those emerald eyes...And her heart ached that she was the cause of it. "Lena..." Kara whispered, her voice abnormally deep, as she made a step forward. But when she moved, she saw Lena take a step back and that was a clear sign to back off. "Lena..." Kara muttered weakly, as the pain in her chest started to intensify. Lena was breathing heavily, trying her best to keep her calm, but so many things were running through her mind, so many emotions washing over her body...Fear, anger, betrayal, sadness, love? The Luthor herself had no idea how to even feel.
"Who are you?" Lena whispered shakily, gripping the table behind her so tight, that her knuckles became white. Kara sighed in defeat, knowing there was no turning back and lying was never an option to her. "Kara Morningstar...The Devil, Queen of Hell, the fallen angel." The Devil answered, as a single tear slipped out of her eye, but was quickly gone. They looked at each other, their eyes cloudy with emotions. But then Lena scoffed, shaking her head in absolute disbelief. "Of course. How absurd of me to ask...The answers were right in front of, it's even in front of me right now." Lena answered coldly, her anger seeping through her body, but then she noticed...There was nothing to be angry about, since Kara was honest with her this whole time. She herself was the one who just couldn't read the signs clearly...That just made her angry about herself, that she stupidly fell into a trap. "Lena, don't bring yourself down about it." The Devil read her just like a book, and she cursed herself about it...
"Did you have any plans on telling me?" Lena asked instead, wanting to know the truth if she would have ever gotten the information. Kara took a deep breath, and then she nodded, taking just a little weight off both their shoulders. "Yes...I would have. I actually planned on telling you after dealing with the whole sibling rivalry thing." Kara answered honestly, taking a little step further and was relieved that Lena did not take a step back this time. Lena was clearly thinking about those words, but then she looked deeply into those Devil eyes. "So this whole time...This whole time, the actual Devil was in front of me...Eating lunch or dinner with me. Hell even had a sleepover in my house!" The Luthor blurted out, still in absolute disbelief, a sign that she was still in shock and her emotions a wreck. Kara sighed, knowing that the information was a little a lot and even worse that it wasn't her who dropped the bomb. "Yes...B-But are you mad at me?" Never in her life of eternity had she felt so...Vulnerable, so open to damage. Lena's eyes softened a little, upon hearing the question and seeing the vulnerability in those red eyes, just crushed a bit of her heart. A little silence crept in the room, the tension could be felt from miles away. Finally, Lena sighed and shook her head. "No, I am not...I don't think so." She answered truthfully, seeing Kara's shoulders loosen just a little...But heavy emotional baggage was still crystal clear on those broad shoulders.
