It was a late evening, and the Devil was casually drinking a glass of whiskey, while she heard music blasting downstairs. The night was very active, just imagining people dancing, their sweaty bodies near each other, breath on breath. It was a lot to imagine.
But in this particular night, the Devil herself wasn't in the mood entraining her guests or even picking a girl and bring her to bed. (I think we are aware of how active the Devil's sex life is). But why doesn't she want to do all those thing she usually does? To be honest she herself is even lost.
Kara sighed, losing her thirst of drinking more scotch. She seemed to be in deep thought, but she just didn't know why. Her mind just goes to a certain green eyed goddess...
She closed her eyes, thinking about how badly she wants to kiss those deliciously red lips. How she wants to pin her to the wall, mark her neck that people know to whom she belongs to. How she wants to pin Lena on her bed, make her scream her name. But her thoughts weren't all dirty, there were also others, and those were the ones that scared her the most. She thinks how much she wants to hold Lena in her arms, go on dates, cuddle after a tiring day, hold hands while strolling through the park...It scared her that she isn't only longing for sex, but also for comfort. Longing for someone to run home to, to lean on when things get tough, to feel safe with. And Kara couldn't understand these feelings, the butterflies in her stomach when Lena hugs her, the heartwarming feeling when she sees Lena smile, the sudden difficulty to breathe when she looks into emerald eyes, the electricity when their hands gently touch, the increase of her heartbeat when she sees Lena, just Lena. She was searching for answers, but couldn't find one that would make sense.
But the answer was so simple: For the first time in billions of years, the Devil was falling in love...
Her deep thoughts were interrupted, when she heard Alex call her: "Kara? You okay?" Her trance has been finally broken, looking towards the voice. Upon hearing her sister's question she just scoffed. "I'm fine Alex. Just thinking about stuff." Answered the Devil, filling her glass with golden liquid. The angel raised a brow, sensing something was off. "You sure? Something seems to be disturbing you." Alex said cautiously, knowing if she said the wrong words, this place would be on fire in mere seconds. Kara took the glass in her mouth, looking to her sister with a dangerous look. "Many things disturb me. I just don't acknowledge the most." The Devil answered bluntly, muttering a few incoherent words under her breath. "I guess this thing disturbing you is about a certain green eyed beauty?" Alex asked, taking a sit next to Kara, filling herself a glass of scotch. She heard Kara chuckle, who seemed to be finding it ridiculous, that she would be thinking about a mortal. "Perhaps, I leave you to your curiosity." The Devil answered, not wanting to lie, but also not wanting to tell the full truth. "That's a good enough answer for me." Alex stated, making Kara roll her eyes, almost regretting accepting Alex's help. Just when Alex wanted to ask something, Kara's phone chimed. She sighed and wondered who would be texting her, destroying her peace a little more, I mean she has Alex already and she's enough of a pain in the ass. But then she smiled seeing who texted her...And I think we all know who it is:
Lena: Good evening Miss Charming. I was wondering if you would like join me tomorrow for drinks? Got a new stash of delicious wine.
Kara: Evening Miss Beautiful. I'd love to join you tomorrow. Do I need bring something?
Lena: Just bring your charming self. Maybe a few comfortable clothes?
Kara: Noted, beautiful. Anything else?
Lena: That would be all. See you tomorrow evening, handsome.
Kara: See you tomorrow, beautiful.
Kara was smiling like an idiot in love, while Alex just observed. 'May be the Devil, but very oblivious.' Thought the angel, shaking her head, while taking a sip from her scotch. "I know that look." Alex just stated, pulling Kara out of her phone screen. The Devil had a questioning look, wondering what in the Heaven's her sister meant. "What look?" Kara asked, taking a sip from the burning alcohol. "Seems like you fell in love." Teased the angel, looking at a now wide eyed Kara. "Fallen in love? If I ever fall in love, then it's with my scotch and dog." Kara found her sister's statement absolutely absurd. "Dear sister, you can't deny the fact." The angel answered, looking at her sister with a smirk, but that smirk was wiped away, when Kara broke her glass with her bear hand. "I don't believe in love! I never believed again, when all of you pushed me into that portal! I vowed to myself to never fall in love, especially with a pathetic mortal!" Kara stood up from the couch, walking to her bar, fuming with anger, her eyes glowing red and her horns visible. Alex was surprised by the sudden outburst, but when she looked at her sister, she saw someone broken who desperately deserves love, needs love...
Kara was angry, very angry. She's not a helpless mortal, who literally begs for love. She's the Devil for Heaven's sake! She can get anything she wants with a snap of her fingers, she can get every woman just with a seductive smirk and charming smile. If she wants to, she could become the richest person in the world, but she is not greedy. Humans are greedy and would even kill for money, but she's not human. If she can get anything, than why does she need love?
Want to know why she needs, deserves love? She has a broken soul, that is in need of mending, a broken halo that should be put together, a stone cold heart that should turn warm...And those can only be fixed by love.
"Kara, I'm sorry I didn't mean to anger you." The angel apologized, leaving her glass on the coffee table, cautiously walking towards the angered Devil. Those words soothed Kara, the flames of anger behind her eyes, slowly subsiding. "I don't love, Alex." Kara said bitterly, the word 'love' having a disgusting taste on her tongue. "Then what is Lena to you?" Alex asked, keeping a respectful distance from her sister. Kara couldn't give a direct answer, she had to think about it. "I-I don't know." The Devil whispered, trying to search for the answer, but couldn't. Alex took a few steps forward. "The answer is so simple Kara. I know deep down you know it, you're just afraid to admit it." The angel stated, hoping that she didn't say anything wrong. Kara stayed quiet, not knowing what to say, lost at words. The room fell into silence, Kara's eyes turning back to blue, her horns disappearing from her head. "Is this some kind of trick from father? First, meeting Lena. Second, you coming just like that. W-what is going on?" Kara seemed so lost, wondering if this was some plan from her father, making her fall in love, thinking she would be happy for the rest of eternity and then betray her once again, by breaking her already broken heart. "No, Kara. It's fate that you met Lena and I came here to help you." Deep down Alex was hurt, that her sister still didn't trust her, after showing Kara that she wasn't here to fool her.
Kara looked deep into her sister's eyes. Alex knew that look all too well, but this was the only chance to show her sister that she can be trusted. "What is it that you truly desire?" Kara asked, moving closer and closer to her sister, who was enchanted by her charm. Who knew that angels weren't even immune to the Devil's charm?
Alex gaped like a fish, her answer coming slowly. "I-I want my sister to be happy." The charm stopped, and Alex was relieved that she had now control over her own body. Kara looked at Alex, somehow surprised, but yet glad. Glad that her sister wasn't here to betray her. "How can I find love when I'm not worthy of love? How can I fall in love, when love was the one to betray me?" Kara asked, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. The angel saw the pain in the Devil's eyes, and gently gave her sister a hug. "Just because love is the one to betray you, doesn't mean that you are worthless." She softly rubbed Kara's back, feeling that her sister was still holding her tears. "But you'll only see what love truly is, when you let it come to you." Alex said, seeing the gears in Kara's brain turning. "Don't let yourself get pressured, let time and fate do the job." Alex whispered softly, and finally Kara let her tears fall. "I hate being vulnerable." Kara said, making Alex chuckle. Even in the most emotional moments, Kara always seems to pull out a joke. "I know, but that is a part of love." The angel gently cupped the Devil's cheek , wiping the tears away. "It's hard to love and be loved, but if you don't give it a chance...You will never know the answer." Kara scoffed at the statement, that she isn't loved. "Alex, almost every woman wants me to bring them to bed. I think I just don't love easily." Alex made a grimace, she really didn't want to hear how active her sister's sex life is. "Ew, I did not want to know that." Kara chuckled, seemingly being in a much better mood. "Love is difficult." The Devil stated, and by the looks of it Alex agreed. But deep down Kara knew it, she knew that even the Devil can fall in love. Perhaps she has already fallen in love, without fully knowing it.
But the question is, is this the love the Devil has been longing for?
