Chapter 23

Riya....

It was now April play offs for the basketball team was over and it was now football season so of course I still had practice but today me my mom Mesha and her mom are all going shopping for prom dresses. I wanted to go alone but my mother insisted on coming with me and truly I really didn't have a problem with that. Me and Mesha were walking the strips with the boutiques arm in arm "I bet people think we a couple" she said and I laughed "Let them judge I don't care" she looked me up and down "Clearly you don't seeing as you out here with a dress and some low chuck's looking like a white girl" I laughed and pushed her "Whatever you can not talk when you ain't matching" she had on a white street wear shirt and some Burgundy harem jogger capri pants with a blue Jean jacket and some white Adidas "Whatever I look good unlike you with this thot ponytail" she said tugging on the ponytail I had sitting at the top of my head "Whatever trick... so what colors are you and Porscha wearing anyways" she smiled linking her arm back with mines "Black and gold what about you and Nick" "Yellow and white" she nodded as we walked into the first dress store were came across.

We spent a whole two hours shopping but we both found our dresses she found hers in the second store and me well let's just say we were well in store six or seven when I found the one I wanted. But now we were at my uncle Mike's dealership to pick out rental cars my daddy didn't like that idea seeing as he got alot of cars to choose from but since we all know I've always been a daddy's girl he didn't say no. "Oooo girl take my picture" Mesh said I laughed at how ghetto she sounded she stood in front of a black Chevy truck and put her hands in her pocket and the fact that the wind was blowing her hair only made the pic better "Here I said handing her, her phone back" she smiled at the picture before putting her phone in her pocket. After telling my uncle what we wanted to ride in we left and as soon as I got back home I made my way to Nick dad's apartment to see how her day of shopping went.

Pulling up to the apartment I parked my car and got out closing the door I locked it then went to the thing so she could buzz me up. I pressed the button for apartment 10 and waited "Who is it" I heard threw the intercom I laughed "It's Riya let me up" I said pressing the button to talk back I heard the door buzz so I opened it and went in. I made my way to apartment 10 and was immediately greeted with a hug "Hey love" I said stepping out of her embrace and into the apartment she closed the door "What's up how was shopping" she asked I shrugged as we sat on the couch "It was cool me and Mesh had fun" she nodded "What about you did you find your suit" she nodded "Yea I did me and John" I nodded "What happened with Gabby today" Nick asked I shrugged Gabby was suppose to come shopping with us but didn't "I don't know she just told me she couldn't make it" she put her arm around my shoulder and made my head lay on her shoulder "What you doing for the rest of the day" she asked me I shrugged "Just chill I guess" she licked her lips looking at me and said "Chill with me rest of the day" I nodded "Okay" and that was what we did we just sat on the couch watching movies and talking about prom.

Nick....

"Alright baby I'll see you later" Riya was getting ready to leave just as my dad was pulling up she reached up gave me a kiss and walked away. I waited at the apt door as my dad walked inside he didn't speak and he looked upset I could only wonder what was wrong. I followed him down the hall to the apartment and closed the door and watched as he plopped down on the couch he took off his suit jacket sighing putting his head in his hands I sat next to him "What's up pops" he shook his head putting his chin on his fist and looking at me "I'm sorry to tell you this but I can't keep you full time" I looked at him confused "What you mean why not" he sighed "I only have part custody meaning I only get you half the time you have to stay with your mother during the as school years and I get you during the summer and holidays" I bit my lip to keep calm "But why would they do that do they know she drugged me" he nodded "Yea and they say it's not enough evidence to give me full custody since she threw the container away and since I have no evidence I saw her theres Nothing they can do" I shook my head "That's not right it's not fair and I'm not going" I got up to walk away "Nick you can't do that if you stay I could go to jail for kidnapping" I shook my head "I just don't get it don't nobody give a Fuck about me anything can happen and no one cares" I walked off to get my keys and since I already had clothes at Karen house I just left with tears in my eyes I just couldn't believe they were doing this to me I didn't want to go to that house I just couldn't so I turned on to the first street I could and sped in the other direction I cried my heart out trying to get to Riya but before I knew my tears blurred my vision and as I tried to wipe them away the side of my truck was rammed by a semi truck and my head hit the window causing for everything to go black.
