"Sunshine?"
"Hm?"
"I need help."
"With what, Princey?" Virgil asked, sparing Roman a glance before looking back at his phone. "But if it's something to do with your damn play, I'm gone. Just letting you know."
"Er..."
Virgil sighed. "Yeah, I can't help you."
"Please, Virge? Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please?"
"If I help you, will you stop annoying me?"
"Uh... yeah."
"Great. So, what's the problem?"
Roman sighed dramatically. "Acting straight is so difficult!"
"Seriously? You dragged me off my phone for this?" Roman nodded, pouting. Virgil snickered. "Okay fine. How d'you want me to help? I can't exactly change the script."
"If you could maybe act as the love interest-"
"No."
"Please Sunshine?"
"No."
"But it would make it so much easier."
"For you, maybe. But you know me, Princey." Virgil shrugged. "I'd freeze up on stage. I'd ruin everything." He kissed Roman's nose and grinned. "I think I'd prefer writing the play rather by being part of it."
"But you'd be so good at it." Roman said, sitting up properly.
"You really think so?"
"Uh-huh. I know so."
Virgil smiled a little. "I really don't think so, Princey."
"But I know you'd be good and you think you'd be bad. Who's in the right, d'you think?"
"Me because I'm being realistic." Roman made a noise of disappointment and annoyance and Virgil laughed a little. "But think about it, Princey. You can't know something for certain unless it's got facts behind it."
"Like... how I know you're gonna give me a kiss?" Roman guessed. Virgil laughed.
"See you think you know that." He looked back at his phone. "But you're wrong."
"Aw, come on Virge." Roman whined. "Okay, you don't wanna act, fine. But you can't deprive your boyfriend of affection."
"Can't I?"
"I'll starve otherwise."
"Mhm, sure." Virgil shot Roman a glance over his phone. "I think you'll manage."
"But you don't know that."
Virgil rolled his eyes. "No, Princey."
"Please?"
"Pretty sure you've got enough affection to survive for today. I mean," Virgil gestured around, "I've ventured out of my room for you. That enough?"
"Nearly."
Virgil sighed and shook his head, a small smile gracing his face. "Fine."
Roman grinned. Virgil laughed a little and cupped Roman's face, pressing their foreheads together. Roman felt his face heat up a little.
Virgil grinned cheekily and kissed Roman on the nose before going back to his phone.
"H-Hey, what was that?"
"That was affection, Princey. You never specified what kind of- Holy crap, are you blushing?"
"Uh, n-no."
Virgil laughed. "You are. And your stuttering." He smirked. "Did I fluster you, Roman?"
"I, uh,-"
"I did! I did!" Virgil laughed. Roman pouted.
"Okay fine. You flustered me. A little. Happy now?"
Virgil smiled, biting his lip. "Almost." He kissed Roman on the lips, making Roman jump in surprise.
Virgil broke the kiss and grinned at Roman, who was blushing even more. "Now I'm happy."
Roman felt his back hit the scaffold as Virgil smirked at him.
"Not so big and strong now, are we?" Virgil asked, standing insanely close to Roman.
"What do you want?"
Virgil laughed. "Aw, do I scare you, Green?"
Roman swallowed. "I, uh,-"
"I do, don't I? But let me tell you a little secret." Virgil leaned forwards so his mouth was right by Roman's ear. "You scare me too." He said in a stage whisper.
Virgil rolled his eyes and turned to Ace. "Sorry, which way do I go off after this? My mind's gone blank."
"It's fine, Virgil." Ace reassured. "You go off stage left."
"Right, yeah, left. Sorry."
"It's fine." Ace said. They clapped their hands to get everyone's attention. "Okay everyone, how about we break for lunch and then come back in... half an hour? That work from everyone."
There was a chorus of mumbled agreement and people started shuffling around, trying to find their stuff. Roman breathed out.
He thought. "Holy shit."
What three words make me uncomfortable when writing asked no one? Kiss, lips and mouth. In that order. And guess what three words made their way into this chapter? Also, I am very temtped to write a whole chapter of just a flashback so maybe this'll stop either Violet or Queenie (not sure who it is yet) telling me to write a whole chapter of just flashbacks.
Bye,
Blaize
