Virgil looked up as someone sat down heavily beside him.

"Hey Princey. You good?"

"Hm. I'm fine."

"What's up?"

Roman laughed a little. "Nothing gets past you, huh?"

"You're Roman Winston. This," Virgil waved his hand at Roman without looking up from his phone, "isn't 'fine' for you. So what's up?"

"Tonight's the last night."

This did warrant a look from Virgil. "And?"

"And I don't really want this show to end."

"Well it's not going to end end. It's just gonna end. And then they're gonna pick it back up in, like, March or something."

"Yeah but our contribution to it will have ended."

"Hallelujah."

Roman raised an eyebrow at Virgil. "Why're you saying that?"

"Acting's difficult."

"Yeah, no shit Sherlock."

"Especially acting with you."

Roman put his hand over his heart semi-dramatically. "Excuse me, good sir?" Virgil laughed.

"Not like that, Princey. Just... you always steal the show so I've got to work extra hard to keep up."

"I mean... the lead's meant to steal the show, aren't they?"

Virgil glared at him. "Yeah but you're making that pretty difficult for me to do."

Roman snorted with laughter. "Smooth."

"Oh shut up."

"No."

Virgil rolled his eyes and looked back at his phone. There was silence between the two for a while.

"So you think I steal the show, do you?" Roman asked after a couple of beats of silence.

"Jesus, Princey."

"What?"

Virgil sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "A little, yeah. I mean, you're a trained actor, course you're going to steal the show a little."

"Only a little?"

"Well what d'you want me to say?" Virgil asked, raising an eyebrow. "I'm not a fanboy." He pulled his hood up a little. "I don't gush."

"Mhm, sure."

"What's that mean?"

"How d'you know it's meant to mean anything?"

Virgil bit his lip and rolled his eyes. "Smart-ass."

"Why thank you for calling me smart."

Virgil shoved Roman playfully. Roman laughed and shoved him back.

"So mature."

"Hey, you started it!"

"Further proving my point." Virgil said, smirking.

Roman looked down at his feet, blushing a little. Virgil looked at him, a little confused before looking back at his phone.

Roman looked at himself in the dressing-room mirror, half hiding his face and staring himself in the eyes.

"It's the last night. Just one more night and you can forget about Virgil all over again." He muttered to himself. "Just one more night, you can get through this."

A knock at his door made him jump.

"Princey! Hey! Ace wants us down in the wings. You ready?"

"Uh," Roman grabbed the jacket that was hanging on the back of his chair, "um, yeah. Yeah, I'm ready."

"Good. Now come on. We can't start the show without the love interest."

"Main character!" Roman yelled back indignantly. He opened the door and found Virgil leaning against the doorframe, unimpressed.

"Mhm, whatever you say Princey."

Was it... Was it just Roman's imagination or did Virgil look even cuter tonight?

"Princey? Hey, you good?" Virgil asked, clicking in Roman's face.

"Huh? Oh, yeah, fine. Sorry." Roman said, trying for a smile and rubbing the back of his head.

"It's cool. Just stop staring."

Yeah, Virgil definitely looked cuter.

"Okay. Final night, we got this."

"Yeah, I know Princey. I'm not nervous."

"You're not?" Virgil looked at Roman.

"Roman, of course I am. I'm nervous about everything. But I'm less nervous than I was on the first night." Virgil laughed through his teeth. "Wow, first night. Seems like it was last week."

"Mhm." Roman swallowed.

"Are you nervous?"

"Hm? Uh, a little."

Virgil met Roman's eyes and seemed to search them, like he had when they were both teenagers. Something in his face softened.

"You'll be fine, Princey. You're always great and you'll be even better tonight. Got it?"

"Uh, yeah. Um, thanks."

Virgil shrugged and turned away from Roman, starting to walk away. "Don't mention it. Now come on. The show's starting soon."

Now.... I don't want to angst-jinx it but... do you know what I'm saying? It could.... it could happen next chapter. You know the thing I'm talking about? Yeah, I think it's next chapter.
Bye,
Blaize
