Virgil sat down at the back of the bus and let out a breath he'd been holding for he didn't even know how long. He pulled his hood up over his ears and looked out the window, watching the raindrops trickle down the pane.
"Wonder if Princey'll get caught out in the rain." He thought before shaking his head slightly. Why should he care whether Roman got wet or not?
A small smile ghosted over his face as he watched two raindrops race down to the bottom of the window. It was a childish pass-time for Virgil to have fun with but it was just that. Fun. Probably one of the only things Virgil could have near-mindless fun with.
While one part of his mind was focused on the racing rain and the other focused on the street signs beyond the rain, the rest of his mind wandered off somewhere. Wandered off to someone would probably be more accurate, really.
"But there's really no reason for him to apologise. I mean, sure, someone put him up to it but there's no point in him apologising at all, nevermind first." Virgil thought as he watched a street sign for Green Castle Lane speed past. "He was right about us having at least one thing in common. We're both stubborn as Hell."
Virgil rang the bell as the bus slowed to a crawl and finally stopped at his stop. He got up and nearly ran down to the doors before stopping himself because he knew it would look weird for a grown man to be running out of a bus.
"Thanks." He muttered inaudibly to the bus driver before getting out of the bus, into the downpour that was British rain. "Oh, crap." He muttered, pulling his hood up over his head. "Dammit."
Virgil ran for the cover of the sheltered pavement before stopping. He'd rather brave the rain than that many people.
"Why did I even move to London?" He asked himself as he shoved his hands in his very not waterproof hoodie. "I hate people so why did I move to a place where they're there in the thousands?"
"Well, it's not like I had a choice." He thought as he looked up through his soaked fringe to avoid bumping into anyone. "Dad thought we'd all be fine living here... and of course he only asked Remy, the favourite." Virgil sighed quietly before taking a surprisingly bright back-alley short cut to his tower block's front door.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten." Virgil thought as he jogged up the stairs before losing interest. He'd already counted the number of stairs from the ground floor to the fifth numerous times and he knew how many stairs there were. The long and short of it was there was a lot of stairs.
"You don't need to go to the gym if you live in a tower block." Virgil half-sang, half-muttered as he got to his floor.
He shot an awkward smile at one of his neighbours. "I wouldn't go out now. Pouring outside." He muttered, though still perfectly audible in the otherwise silent corridor. His neighbour nodded and after that, Virgil finally got to the safety of his, as Remy had so artfully put it, room and a half.
"Safe at last." He sighed, practically falling into a chair and pulling his shoes off. "And no rehearsal tomorrow, I don't have to leave the house." He grinned up at the ceiling. "No bother, no stress and no Princey for a whole day."
Why did the fact that he didn't have to see Roman make him feel a little down?
IIIIIIIII am stalling. Like, a lot. BUT, IN MY DEFENSE - sorry, that was loud. Um, but in my defense... Behind The Scenes felt a little rushed to me and that was 30 Chapters. And also the fact that this is the direct sequel to YNATFILWM as in it carries on the story and - no one really cares about this, do they? Mkay.
Bye,
Blaize
