"Once it's shut off or take out, there's 15 minutes." Liam said then patted a device "This is what you'll need to hook me up to, it's easy"

Zayn looked at Liam and forced a smile "No pressure?"

Liam looked at him "None." He nodded "I trust you"

Liam's eyes fluttered open and he looked at his right, Zayn smiled at him

Liam blinked and Zayn kissed his hand "Are you ok?" He whispered

Liam nodded slowly "I'm sorry..."

Zayn shook his head "No babe, it's ok."

Liam looked at him and put his hand on Zayn's cheek "I'm sorry you had to witness that..."

Zayn closed his eyes "I'm sorry you had to go through it"

Zayn kissed Liam's temple, as Liam rested his head on Zayn's arm

"Can I get your opinion on something?"

Zayn nodded "Of course"

Liam looked at his hands "There's this... Experimental surgery-"

Zayn frowned and sat up quickly "Are you even ready to go into another surgery?"

Liam nodded "It's been a year, and it'll be a while before I actually go into it"

Zayn nodded "What type of surgery is it?"

Liam took a deep breath and pushed his hair away from his face

"A heart surgery"

"I don't want to force him into it but what if he genuinely wants my opinion?!"

Niall blinked "You're overthinking this. If he didn't want it, he wouldn't have asked"

Zayn gave Niall a glare and Niall rolled his eyes then stood up, he walked towards Zayn and put his hands on Zayn's arm

"You'll be fine. He didn't want to do it when he was with Luca but he wants to do it with you" Zayn stopped and slowly nodded "And he's... He's just asking for your opinion" Niall said then stepped back

"You aren't going to be his emergency contact"

Zayn frowned "Who is?"

Louis squeezed Liam's hand "I promise. I'll do whatever you think is best"

Liam slowly nodded then sighed "Now... To get them to change it from Luca to you"

Louis frowned "They won't make it too hard... Right?"

Liam sighed "They probably will... I assigned Luca in a weak moment, and I'm still not 100% in a stable mindset"

Louis looked at him and leaned back "What will you do?"

Liam blinked, took a deep breath then stood up "Have only me in my head..."

Louis looked at the knife then at Liam "You'll bleed out"

Liam rolled his eyes "Louis."

Louis took a deep breath "What can I do to help?"
