A tap on the glass woke Zayn up, he opened his eyes and met Liam's eyes
Liam had a lazy smile and the oxygen mask was replaced with a Nasal cannula
Zayn smiled then looked at the nurse that just left Liam's room
"Can I go in?"
She looked at Liam, then at Zayn and nodded. She gave him some layers to put on before she let him in
He walked towards Liam and sat down beside him "Hiya pretty boy…"
Liam's brown eye was bright "You look cute when you sleep"
Zayn smiled "How long have you been a creep?"
Liam shrugged "3 hours now"
Zayn shook his head "What kind of creepy behaviour is this Liam?"
Liam laughed and cringed, Zayn's smile fell "What's wrong?"
Liam shook his head "It's fine" He let out a breath "It's... It's fine"
Zayn frowned, he traced down Liam's nose then tapped the tip of it
Liam looked at him and smiled "I'm fine, I promise"
Zayn held Liam's hand and kissed it before he rested Liam's hand against his cheek, Liam looked at Zayn who's eyes were closed
"Zayn, Are you ok?"
Zayn nodded before he opened his eyes, he smiled "With you?" He kissed Liam's hand "Always"
Liam rubbed Zayn's cheek with the back of his finger, then traced Zayn's nose "Why do you call me pretty boy?"
Zayn shrugged "I'm just acknowledging what you are, Jaan. Just speaking the truth"

Liam was moved to a normal room and was about to sign a few papers when a finger poked his side
He turned towards it with a frown but stopped when he saw a kid, they couldn't have been older than 4 and were looking up at Liam with wide eyes
"When did you come in here?" Liam whispered
The kid shrugged "Dunno. I'm looking for my mummy and daddy"
Liam frowned "Are you sure they're here? On this floor?"
The kid nodded, but Liam shook his head, it was the cardiology floor, it's no place for a kid to be
He took a deep breath then pushed his covers away then stood up, the kids eyes widened
"Waaaw!! Are you a robot?!"
Liam forced out a breath as he stood up "Kinda" he looked at Zayn who was asleep on the couch
"Baby, Zee" Zayn let out a grunt "I'll be right back"
Zayn opened his eyes and frowned "Where are you going?"
Liam pointed to the kid and Zayn sat up, he walked towards Liam and wrapped an arm around his waist
"I can't force you to go back to bed, can I?" Zayn mumbled and Liam shook his head
The only reason he woke him up is because if Zayn woke up and Liam wasn't there, he'll start a search party... It nearly happened once
"No. You can't"
They walked out together onto the empty halls and looked around
The cardiology floor is always empty, usually it's just Liam and whoever he decided to haul with him
So the nurses were silently sitting, reading before they looked up
The older nurse shook her head and walked towards the 3 standing together
"You should be in bed"
Liam pointed at the kid "Looking for their dad"
The kid looked at Liam, and held his hand. Zayn shook his head and the kid stuck their tongue out
The nurse sighed and nodded, she nodded for the 3 to follow she walked towards a door a few steps away and knocked before she opened it
2 people were in the room, they looked up and their eyes widened
The kid giggled "Daddy!!" The kid said, running to their dad that's on the hospital bed
Liam looked at them with a frown, the father was hooked to wires and tubes but he was smiling for his kid
Zayn looked at Liam then put a hand on his lower back, Liam looked at him
They both left, and they walked back to Liam's room with the nurse
"When was he admitted?" Liam mumbled
The nurse frowned "You know I can't disclose that"
"Does he need a surgery too?"
"Liam-"
"Please... I want to know" He said stopping, Zayn frowned and rubbed his back, the nurse shook her head and turned towards him fully
"He was signed to get the surgery 2 minutes after you signed."
Liam frowned and his shoulders fell, the nurse blinked then shook her head "Don't even think about it"
"He has a kid"
The nurse shook her head "And if you stop now, you'll die before January"
Liam looked at Zayn, then back ahead, he slowly nodded and they went back into Liam's room

Zayn gave Liam a tie from around his wrist and Liam tied his hair up
"I should step down" Zayn sat down, and focused on Liam "He has a kid, and I'm just… I'm just something"
Zayn blinked and Liam looked at him "Say something" Liam whispered dropping his hands
Zayn stretched a hand, Liam hesitated but walked towards him and held his hand
"You're so delicate" he whispered, his thumb rubbing over his (Liam's) hand
"That means easily broken, baby" Liam said with a small smile
Zayn chuckled and shook his head "I don't mean delicate as easily broken, because you know as well as I do you fought and won with a few scars and bruises to show... I meant delicate as you're a delicacy, I don't deserve to be in your presence, I don't deserve to hear your laughs and to see your smiles; but I will do anything to stay" He whispered
"You're a luxury, one of a kind and I want to treasure every moment, and second I have with you"
Liam looked at Zayn's face and gripped Zayn's shoulders when Zayn pulled him (Liam) down on his (Zayn's) lap
"If you want to wait, I'll support you. If you want to do it now, I'll be right here. You take the lead and I'll right beside you"
