Liam let out a breath through his teeth while Zayn injected the medication in
Zayn pulled the needle out and immediately wrapped it in a protective bag then threw it away, he covered Liam with the covers and Liam closed his eyes
Liam's teeth chattered and he hugged the pillow "Do you want anything?" Zayn whispered, Liam answered with a shake of his head "Ok…"

Liam looked at the ceiling when his phone rang, he frowned and picked it up
He answered with a mumbled hello, he sighed and he sat up and walked out of the room
Zayn looked at him and smiled, but his smile fell when he saw the look on Liam's face
"What's wrong?"

"I'm going to douse him in gasoline"
Liam slowly nodded, he opened the door for Zayn to drop Luca into the backseat
"His phone, please"
Zayn nodded and gave Liam Luca's phone. Liam scratched his jaw as he rolled his eyes and unlocked the phone
"What's wrong?"
Liam shook his head "Just changing the emergency contact from me to one of his sisters" he mumbled
Zayn looked at the way Liam's hands trembled and shook his head "Get in the car babes, it's cold out"

They walked into Luca's house and stopped, Luca's sisters, Angela and his daughter were all looking at them
Zayn blinked and dropped Luca, letting him slip and fall
"He'll need bread" was all he said before he turned to Liam "Let's-"
But he was cut off by someone jumping and hugging Liam
His eyes widened and he looked at Jessie who was squeezing Liam tightly... Too tightly
Liam was cringing and his fists were balled before he shoved her off and stumbled closer to Zayn
"Liam, listen-"
"I changed his emergency contact and delete my number off of his phone. I'll block him on mine, I don't ever want to see him again"

Luca let out a breath as he chugged down a glass of water
Angela was frowning while Ariel sat on her lap
"I'm shocked to see you here."
"It's Saturday, Luca."
Luca cringed and looked at his daughter, she wasn't looking at him, but frowning while playing on the tablet that's in her hands
"Ari" she looked at him "Sorry kiddo, I just-"
They were cut off by Angela's phone ringing and Ariel looked at it and smiled
She let the tablet go and ran it of the room, Angela and Luca stood up quickly and Luca rushed after her while Angela walked
Luca watched as his daughter ran down the stairs then squealed and jumped into a man's arms
"Papa!!"
Luca frowned and looked at Angela, she looked at him
"You were so worried about your ex, who by the way, deserves the man he's with now. That you completely forgot about your daughter, who did everything to try and get your attention until she no longer wanted it... You didn't want to be her dad, she found someone who did"

"Your surgery will be in 2 weeks"
Liam quickly looked up "But I-"
"Yes, but the tests showed that the heart wouldn't have suited him"
Liam shook his head "Try to-"
"Liam, Jeoffery is grateful for your sacrifice; but his life style is too unhealthy for him to get the surgery."
Liam's shoulders fell, a hand squeezed his and he met his mother's eyes
"He'll get another chance, he has time, you don't"
Liam slowly nodded and whispered a quiet ok, his hand slipped from his mother's as they both followed the doctor out
"You'll be spending time leading upto the surgery in the hospital, as a way to insure you won't get sick, you'll be under 24 hour observation, no stress and we'll be giving you stronger as to get you ready for the switch" Liam slowly nodded "Ready?"
The room was quiet Liam opened them closed his mouth as he looker between his mother and the doctor
But he shook his head "No"

Zayn rubbed his face as his phone rang, he saw Liam's name and smiled "Hi Jaan"
Liam's voice was quiet "I uh... My surgery is 2 weeks from today"
Zayn sat up and his eyebrows shut up, he waved everyone out of his office, They all left like their lives depended on it
"Liam, that's-... How are you feeling?"
"I'm terrified" He mumbled
"Is your mum still with you? If she is tell her to stay until I'm home, babes"
"Baby... There's no going home for me"
Zayn froze "What-What do you mean?"
"I'll be staying in the hospital until after my surgery, baby. I found out 30 minutes ago"
"I'm coming-"
"Zayn, no."
"Liam-"
"Love, listen to me. Ok?"
"Ok…"
"It'll take you too long, I'm just about ready to get locked up" Liam forced a laugh
"I just... I just wanted to talk to you one last time"

Liam took a deep breath with his hand behind his head as he closed his eyes
"I don't know if I'll wake up-"
"You will"
"Let me finish baby... I don't know if I'll wake up the same person as who you want me to be, and I may not wake up at all"
"Any pain, Liam?"
Liam squeezed his eyes "Y-yeah"
"Rate it"
"You will, I'm sure you will. Just wait, I'll be-"
"Baby... Thank you"
"Fo-For what?"
"For making the most terrible while of my life the happiest-"
"This sounds like the goodbye you tried to give me a while ago and fuck if I let that happen again"
"It's not a goodbye, love. It's just… I'll see you when everything is in its place"
"Liam…"
Liam's eyes fluttered open and he looked at the nurse, she had a hand on his cheek, quietly wiping a tear
"Your pain, sweetheart; rate it please"
Liam looked at her and blinked before he looked at the ceiling, there was a heaviness in his throat as tears fell down hid face before he whispered
