Zayn was reading something in his office when his father walked in "The fuck are you doing here?"
Zayn looked up and furrowed his brows "Working?"
His father blinked and shook his head "Stupid" he said walking towards Zayn
He pulled him up by his arm and walked out "So stupid I don't know how you're my son"
Zayn frowned "What did I do?"
"Be stupid"
"What did I do to be called stupid?"
"Act stupid"
Zayn walked with his father towards his car "Am I fired or something?"
His father dropped his arm and stood in front of him with his hand on his hips
"Zayn-" He sighed "You shouldn't be at work today?"
Zayn blinked "Why?"
"Liam's surgery is today"
Zayn let out a breath "There's nothing I can do"
"Yeah, but you won't be in the right mindset. Go to the hospital, I'll take care of everything here"
Zayn frowned "I need to prove-"
"Zayn. Go, you're spending another minute here"

As soon as Liam's mother saw him, she got up and ran towards Zayn
She hugged him tightly and he hugged her back "I'm glad you're here, dear..."
Zayn smiled "I didn't know if I should be here"
She pulled away, Liam's father gave him a small smile and nodded
Zayn waved before Liam's mother pulled him towards the chairs
Zayn sat down and let out a breath
"When was he taken in?"
"About 10 minutes ago" Liam's dad said leaning back
Zayn took a deep breath and rested his head back "Ok…"

"Are you alright, love?"
Liam looked at Zayn and smiled "Yeah, I'm alright. You, baby?"
Zayn sat down beside Liam, he kissed Liam's neck and wrapped his arms around Liam's waist
Liam laughed and rubbed Zayn's cheek "How does Roger feel?"
Zayn shrugged "The swine is more angry about me hitting him than anything else"
Liam shook his head and pulled away, he turned fully towards Zayn and ran his fingers through Zayn's hair
Zayn buried his face into Liam's neck, and Liam cupped the back of Zayn's head
"Did you know that people believed that the world will end when the year 2000, then they believed that it might end in 2012?"
Zayn chuckled "Did they?"
Liam nodded "Yeah, people were insane"
Zayn pulled away then pulled Liam on his lap "What's one thing you wish to come true?"
Liam looked at Zayn, he stayed quiet then shrugged "I don't really know... I never allowed myself to think about what I want rather than what I need"
Zayn smiled "Think about it, then tell me once you know"
Liam nodded then rubbed Zayn's cheek "What about you?"
Zayn smiled "Everything I've ever dreamed of slowly coming true"

"Oh you fucking idiot"
"It was a honest mistake"
"You being born is a mistake, this is a fucking catastrophe"
Liam choked on his smoothie, he leaned ahead and coughed out
Zayn looked at his dad and pointed at Liam "Look at what you did!!"
"The only thing I did was your mum, and what do you know. HERE YOU ARE!!"
Liam burst out laughing, Zayn looked at him and smiled, he then turned to his dad and mouthed a quiet 'thank you'
His dad smiled behind his cup of coffee and nodded once, Zayn turned to Liam and went to stand behind him
"What you won't defend me?"
Liam laughed and raised a hand to rub Zayn's cheek "I'd assume your dad knows me more than I do"
"I doubt he knows my favourite colour"
"I doubt you know how to spell your favourite colour"
Liam covered his mouth and dropped his head back, Zayn shook his head and picked Liam up
Liam waved at Zayn's dad who raised the cup in his hands as Zayn carried Liam out
He also waved at Zayn's mother as she walked into the room, and she smiled at him
Liam then rested his head on Zayn's shoulder "Where are we going?"
"My room, because you need rest"
Liam shook his head "I'm just fine"
"If you were fine, you wouldn't be pulling on the neckline of your sweater" Zayn said looking at him
Liam looked at Zayn neck and shrugged "I can walk baby... Go spend time with your parents"
Zayn shook his head "I'll make sure you're all wrapped up and safe before I do" He whispered and kissed Liam's nose
Liam smiled "You care about me a lot... Don't you?"
Zayn shrugged and kicked the door to his bedroom open "Sure, you can say that..."

Liam played with Zayn's hair, Zayn let out an uneven breath
"What's wrong?" Liam whispered
"I don't know... She's trying, and so hard. The last 6 years, she's been there for every birthday, she's been clean, and she's taking extra steps to try to be there... But-" He sighed and shrugged
Liam rubbed Zayn's cheek "You're mad she didn't do it sooner?"
Zayn looked into Liam's eyes and nodded "Yeah... If she could do it now means she could've always done it... Was my childhood not worth her getting better"
Liam frowned and held onto him tightly "I'm sorry that you feel this way baby"
Zayn shook his head "It's not your fault, Jaan..." He sat up and cupped Liam's cheeks
"You're the most supportive person in my life-"
Liam leaned into his hand and smiled "More than your dad?"
Zayn chuckled and rested his head against Liam's "Most definitely" He kissed Liam's nose
Liam smiled then pressed their lips together, Zayn smiled and kissed him back
Zayn woke up to someone shaking him, he blinked a few times and looked up at Liam's mother standing over him
Her eyes were filled with tears and he quickly stood up
"What's wrong? What happened?"
