Liam can hear people's thoughts... And he actually asked for it
Doctors wanted to expirement something, Liam heated and volunteered himself
He needed to forget about the missing organ in his chest... So he preferred to think about what everyone else was thinking
But along with that chip was a part that can be touched to turn it off, Liam explained he has it on for so long that he forgets what it's like to only have himself in his head
But the issue with turning it off, Liam's entire line of thought stops if he isn't prepared for it
'Like a robot malfunctioning' he explained to Zayn
Zayn wanted to argue but Liam's stopped him and continued to explain
Louis wanted to tell him but didn't know how, but his thoughts were already words in Liam's ear
Then while Liam was trying to relax, Jessie passed by them, she tried to run but Liam already heard her thoughts too
"Luca is... A nearly unexplainable son of a bitch" Liam said then forced a laugh, Zayn nodded, his hand tightly holding Liam's
"He has ways, to get what he wants... And in this situation it's-"
"You"
Liam looked at Zayn and nodded "Me..." He looked at their hands "I'm the thing he wants but he can't have... Luca hasn't been denied a thing in years" Zayn nodded
"He's linking me leaving him with you, he can't comprehend that I left him because of his wrong doings" Zayn snorted but nodded
"So... He wants to hurt you"
"How?"
"Lock you in a self isolation room in the name of evaluation of human kind but without giving you any sign of preparation or support that you'll need"
Zayn's eyes widened "And... What did you do for him to-... To not do that?"
Liam's shoulders fell and he pulled his hand away, Zayn frowned
"One last around... But with the lights off" Liam whispered
Liam heard everything in that moment, the names of all the women, the days, the amount of times they were together
He tried to not be repulsed and closed his eyes with his hand on Luca's back but Luca gripped his neck
Liam felt a thing inside of him break at every name and reason...
The first time Luca cheated was the day after his (Liam's) test, he went to try and get some fresh air and accidentally bumped into an old friend
He filed it as 'needing support'
Other times was when Liam said no, if Liam had another surgery and needed a long recovery time, when him and Liam fought and sometimes just for the sake of the thrill
Once they were done, Liam got off slipped his shirt back on and walked towards the door to leave the room
Liam wiped his forehead and opened the door, before he stopped
"Luca"
"Hmm..."
Liam looked at Luca from over his shoulder "When your kid is here, and they come to you to tell you that someone fucked them over during some of their difficult times... I hope you know that's your karma, and you're the only one to blame"
Zayn took Liam's hand again "Why that comment?"
Liam looked at their hands "Because, The one thing Luca is scared about other than what I know... Is his kids lives being in the shitter because of his actions"
Zayn nodded and looked at their hands again, before Zayn blushed
"So uh... Were you always able to hear my thoughts?"
Liam nodded, Zayn cringed "I am... So sorry"
Liam waved him off "No big deal, most of those thoughts were nice"

Zayn tapped Liam's chest and Liam looked at him
"You have a nice smile"
Liam blinked "Huh?"
Zayn smiled "You have a nice smile"
Liam frowned "What are you on?"
Zayn shook his head and took both of Liam's hands "It's called a compliment you idiot"
Liam blinked then looked down "O-Oh..."
Zayn frowned and tilted his head to the side "You ok?"
Liam put both of his hands on his face and nodded "Yep"
Zayn blinked and smiled before he tilted Liam's face up
Their eyes met and Zayn took Liam's hand away from his face
"You're... You're blushing"
Liam let out a breath "Is that why my face feels like it's on fire?"
Zayn chuckled "Hopefully... Yeah"
Liam nodded and stood up "I'm going to go... I want a shower and a change out of these clothes"
Zayn nodded and leaned back against the couch
"Uhh... Zayn"
"I'm listening babes..." He said craning his neck to look at Liam
"It's... It's not the first time I felt like this..." Zayn nodded "Around you" He said before he quickly walked away
Zayn blinked before he smiled
"I'M GLAD!!"
"SHUT UP!!"
Zayn laughed and covered his face, his phone rang and he extended a hand to answer it
"Hello?"
"Zayn..."
Zayn's smile fell and he quickly sat up, he pulled his phone away from his ear, looked at the screen before he put it against his ear again
"Mum?"
