Liam's eyes widened "Are you crazy?"
Zayn shrugged "A little bit"
Liam looked ahead as they walked past a few shops "Zayn... Are you sure?"
Zayn nodded "Yeah, I'm sure."
Liam stopped and Zayn did before he stood in front of Liam, Liam looked around at the other shops in the mall then met Zayn's eyes again
"You... Want me to be your date for a gala?"
Zayn nodded "You do know people will talk right?" Liam whispered and rubbed over his chest "I went from Luca, to you and people will talk"
Zayn took Liam's hand "Don't they always?"
Liam bit down on his bottom lip "I'll think-"
"Liam"
Liam stepped closer to Zayn and looked at Luca and Angela
She smiled sadly at Liam and he forced a smile back at her, Luca kept his eyes on Liam
"How've you been?"
Liam looked at him "I'm ok"
Luca looked at Zayn and clenched his jaw "Zayn"
Zayn nodded "Luca"
Luca looked between them "What are you both doing here?"
Zayn shrugged "Getting froyo"
Luca snorted "Liam doesn't like froyo"
Liam frowned and looked at him "I do..."
Luca looked at him "What?"
Liam blinked "I do like froyo, I just don't like chocolate flavoured froyo"
Luca frowned "You never told me that."
Liam sighed "I did... Everytime you bought chocolate flavoured froyo"
Angela cleared her throat and all the men turned to her, she smiled "I'm happy for you Liam..."
Luca glared at her but Liam smiled at her when Zayn rubbed his back
"Thank you, good luck with the baby and all"

"YOU'RE HAPPY FOR HIM?! WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU??"
Angela frowned "You said he was never happy with you, he looks happy-"
"He isn't, I'm sure of it"
"Luca." She sighed "I don't want my baby to grow up in an environment where their father will get angry and yell at me everytime he doesn't get his way"
Luca looked at her and blinked, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath "I'm... I'm sorry"
Angela shrugged "I'll see you at the next appointment, Luca"

Liam frowned "So... I most definitely need a surgery?"
The doctor nodded "You'll need a lung transplant sooner rather than later. A mechanical one won't do you any good anymore"
Liam slowly nodded as the doctor gave him pamphlets
"As you know, your case has been discussed between multiple doctors. One of them in Thailand has said he'll be able to help you more than I could... And it would be against the code of honor if u don't tell you"
Liam looked at the pamphlets "Do you recommend I do this?"
The doctor nodded "Yes Liam, I do..."
A few days later...
Zayn was leaning against a table taking a sip from his drink when Liam walked in
Their eyes met and Zayn smiled and excused himself before he rushed to Liam's side
They both hugged and Liam smiled "You came..." They pulled away and Zayn cupped Liam's cheek "You disappeared for a few days and I was worried"
Liam leaned against Zayn's hand and took a deep breath "Just... Just had somethings I had to think about alone, I'm sorry"
Zayn shook his head "It's alright, babes"

Louis and Niall's eyes were wide open seeing Liam and Zayn dance around the dance floor
The 2 were talking but their moves were in sync, Zayn said something that made Liam shake his head with a smile
"What did he do?" Niall whisper shouted to Louis
Louis took 2 flutes of champagne and gave Niall one, they kept their eyes on the 2 and clinked their flutes together
"I will never know, but fucking god I hope they'll always be happy together"

Zayn was talking to his father's partners when Louis asked if they could talk
Zayn excused himself then went to the side with Louis
"Where's Liam?" was the first thing Louis said
Zayn frowned "What?"
"Liam. Where's Liam? I wanted to ask him-"
"He said he's going to talk to you"
They both froze then ran to different sides, Louis went to Niall who quickly tried calling Liam
It rang and rang but Liam didn't answer, Zayn kept looking around
His father gave him a questioned look but Zayn just shrugged, he left the room into a hall
"LIAM?"
His voice echoed and he walked, it was empty and all that he could hear were his footsteps
He ran his fingers through his hair when he heard a ringtone
He turned towards it and started to walk when it stopped
He jogged quicker and turned around the hall before he stopped
Luca, he saw Luca... Holding Liam, by his neck against a wall
Then Liam's eyes met Zayn's; and for the first time, he (Zayn) saw fear in Liam's eyes
