Brooke stared at herself through her bathroom mirror, a frown settled onto her face as she looked at her reflection. Her hair was in its natural curly state due to the humidity and her make up, well her make up didn't exist. Ever since everything happened with Xavier a couple days ago Brooke hasn't really felt like herself. She didn't bother hanging out with the family or his friends like she was instead she stayed in her room playing her cello or looking out in the distance on her balcony. She didn't speak to anybody unless she was spoken to but that was rare because as the days went by Dianna and Hank were either out on dates or they didn't bother speaking to her because they knew it would have been a one sided conversation.
Ciara would make her way into Brookes room and talk to her about whatever came to the little girls mind and Brooke would put on a fake smile and talk to the little girl but even then she wouldn't stay long because her attention span was all over the place.
Today, Dianna informed Brooke this morning that they were going out to dinner at a restaurant with the Brown family, which thankfully was Hunters family. She hadn't seen the guy since everything went down and if one person aside from Matrix could make Brooke smile it would be him. Sure, she wasn't too sure if Hunter would even bother talking to her because for the past couple of days Brooke had been avoiding everybody like they were a deadly disease but it was better it be him then somebody else like Molly for example. Brooke would rather eat a poison fish than have dinner with Molly and her family.
"Brooklyn, are you decent?" Hanks voice calls out from her bedroom causing her to look away from the mirror and over to the open bathroom door that lead directly to her bedroom.
"Yeah, I'm in the bathroom." She calls out looming down towards the counter her eyes landing on the chipped black nail polish that decorated her fingernails. Gosh I really need to repaint them.
"Dianna and I were wondering if you'd like to carpool with us or if you would want to carpool with Xavier and Hunter." Hank said walking into the space right between the doorway, his hand shoved into his dress pants pockets.
Oof.
"Um if it's alright with you guys could I go with you?" Brooke asked looking up at her father who had a look of shock on his face as he registered her words.
"Are you sure? It's about a thirty minute drive to the restaurant." Hank said to which Brooke shrugged her shoulders.
It beat spending thirty minutes in awkward silence with Xavier.
"Yeah, I'm sure."
Hank smiled nodding his head. "Great, I'll inform Dianna. Be ready in an hour,"
Brooke nodded her head and watched Hank leave her bedroom before she looked back at her reflection and sighed.
Now what to do with my hair.

An hour and thirty-five minutes later the happy families pulled up to La Puente, the Mexican restaurant that they were going to eat at. Brooke sat between Ciara and Liam and across from Hunter who had Xavier to his right and his parents on his left with Dianna and Hank on the other side of Ciara.
There was chips and salsa on the table that went untouched by Brooke but everybody else seemed to have been enjoying it. Brooke hasn't said a word since she greeted Hunters parents at the front doors and that was okay, she would rather be listening to the conversation around her rather than be apart of it, she wasn't sure what she would have said if she was being honest.
