Brooke sat near the end of the backyard with her cello resting comfortably in between her legs, the softwood cooling her warm skin as she looked out towards the beach where the waves were peacefully waving in and out. The only good thing about this house was the fact that it had a perfect view of the ocean and had the beach right behind it, in all honesty, it was the only thing that she liked about the house and was the only thing that could take her mind off the fact that she wasn't in New York anymore and was in California.

She's been sitting outside trying to find some motivation to start playing the cello to let her anger and sadness out from the events that went down during breakfast this morning and the whole situation with Xavier, she knew that there was nothing going on between them, but if she would have known that he had a girlfriend she wouldn't have allowed him to touch herself. Brooke liked to tell herself that the only reason why she allowed Xavier to even touch her in the first place was that she wanted to get back at Hank and Dianna for ruining her family and not because she was drawn towards Xavier, but even that wasn't convincing Brooke.

Brooke just needed to accept the fact that she was sexually drawn towards Xavier and find a way to get over that whether it be by finding some summer fling with another guy or by just simply getting under a stranger. After all, her grandmother did say that the best way to get over somebody was by getting under somebody new, of course, that shouldn't be something a grandmother should tell her daughter, but with the lifestyle that her grandmother grew up with and how she deals with her relationships it seems like it always works out for her because in the end she's never been upset when she divorces her husband nor is she upset when one of her many boyfriends make a stupid mistake.

She should probably not take her grandmothers to advise especially when she didn't want to catch an STD or accidentally get pregnant with a guy that she would most likely not ever see again just because she wanted to forget about her feelings for some boy but she wanted to forget all about Xavier and her didn't know-how.

The whole time she's been here, which has only been a fucking week all she's done is sit inside her room complaining about how her summer has so far been shitty and how she wanted nothing more than to go home and get away from her father, and she's slowly starting to realize that she's the reason that this summer has started off shitty and that the only way it could turn upside down and actually be good is if she makes it her best by getting off her high horse and ignoring the past and focusing on the future.

So she has feelings for her stepbrother, big deal! She'll just need to find a summer job or find some friends to take her mind off of him. If she found either of those she would be out of the house and seeing California which will take her mind off of him and he wouldn't always be on her mind.

Smiling, Brooke stands up from the patio chair with her cello placed nicely down on the tanning chair beside her and stretches out her body satisfied with the popping of her body. She quickly places her cello back in its case before slinging the strap over her back and walks inside. She was on a mission to get some friends but first, she wanted to take a nap before doing anything major.

After all, when you're stressed out and want to be lazy before going out and doing something, you take a nap, at least that's what Brooke does.

It was nearly dawn by the time Brooke went home the luck of finding any friends or a summer job down the drain as she came back empty-handed. All-day she walked in the summer sun letting the California sunshine down onto her back as she tried finding somebody who looked approachable or a store with a help wanted sign but she found nothing. Now being all sweaty and sore from all the walking she did today Brooke wanted nothing more than to take a shower and curl into bed while watching Stranger Things and fantasize over Billy Hargrove and Steve Harrington.
