The Empousai had disappeared over a ridge. Ranboo, Percy, and Annabeth looked down. There were monsters forming everywhere, all going towards the same direction. The ridge was steep and not good for climbing, especially for two demigods. They could be easily attacked.
Good thing they have Ranboo to help. Without hesitation, Ranboo grabbed onto them and in a shower of purple particles, they were down the ledge.
It's clear where they need to go now. They need to head to where all the all the other monsters are going towards the black horizon.
Percy suddenly remembered a titan he fought once on the banks of the river Lethe, near Hades's palace. His name was Iapetus, which meant Impaler, or something. Percy then gave Iapetus a new name: Bob.
"Bob the Titan." Percy smiled a bit. Annabeth shot him a curious look and Percy briefly explained who Bob is.
Suddenly something moved at the corner of Percy's eye. There was something between the rocks.
"The Empousai." He grabbed Annabeth's arm. "Where are they?"
Annabeth scanned the place with wary gray eyes, alarmed.
Percy drew his sword as Empousai emerged from the rocks all around them. Five of them forming a ring, a perfect trap.
"Percy Jackson." Kelli cooed. "How awesome! I don't even have to return to the mortal world to destroy you!"
Ranboo hissed in Ender, the language of the End. Percy didn't understand him, but he was glad to have a sort-of-healthy friend who is actually in shape to fight — or flee with teleportation — unlike him and Annabeth.
Kelli looked at Ranboo, amused, "Oh, who's this?"
"Did you know that Hecate is on the gods' side this time?" Annabeth ignored Kelli, raising an eyebrow.
"Is this true?" Serephone narrowed her eyes. "Is our mistress helping the gods now? I will not cross the Dark Lady."
Annabeth continued, taking the opening, "You should follow Serephone! She's older and wiser!"
"Yes, follow me!" Serephone agreed.
Kelli attack too fast for Percy to even raise Riptide. It's a good thing she didn't attack the demigods. Kelli and Serephone were a blur of slashing claws and fangs. Then it was over. Kelli stood over a pile of dust.
"Are there any more problems?" Kelli snapped.
Ranboo's pupils dilated. His skin turned from a humane tan-peach to half-white half-black — his full enderman form. Percy saw that Ranboo's teeth and nails — well, perhaps it's claws now — grew sharper. His horns and tail grew longer. (See the book cover to see how the horns look and look at Tadshi's Ranboo animatics on YouTube for the tail. The designs are so cool!) A few purple particles surrounded him.
Kelli pranced forward, but Ranboo immediately jumped forward as well. (Yes protective Ranboo everyone he's going full enderman mode for Percy and Annabeth I've been waiting to write this moment) The two are a blur of claws and enderman particles. Percy could hear Kelli hissing in pain and Ranboo's angry enderman noises.
The other three Empousai jumped towards Percy and Annabeth. An Empousai sliced down at Annabeth, who tried to dodge.
Percy blocked and slashed with Riptide, but the Empousai are too fast. One bit him in his sword arm, making him drop the weapon. Out of the corner of his eye, Percy saw Ranboo standing over a pile of dust: Kelli.
The enderman hybrid quickly went to aid Annabeth, but the Empousai was already bringing her claws down onto Annabeth. Pain seared through Percy as he was bitten a second time.
Everything is hopeless. There's nothing Percy can do. Annabeth and Percy will die before Ranboo can reach them. Ranboo may not even be able to fight off all the Empousai.
A shadow fell across Percy. A deep war cry bellowed from somewhere above, echoing across the plains of Tartarus, and a silver Titan dropped onto the battlefield, immediately crushing an Empousai into dust.
The Titan was ten feet tall, with wild silver Einstein hair, pure silver eyes, and muscular arms protruding from a ripped-up blue janitor's uniform. In his hand he held a massive push broom. His name tag, incredibly, read Bob.
One Empousai was foolish enough to attack, but she was no match for the Titan. A spearhead jutted from the end of Bob's broom. With a single deadly swipe, he cut her to dust. The last vampire tried to run, but Bob threw his broom like a boomerang (broomerang) and killed the vampire before returning back to Bob's hand.
"H-how?!" Annabeth stammered. Percy stared up at Bob in awe. He can't believe that something good actually happened.
Bob frowned at Annabeth's wounds. "Owie." He knelt down next to Annabeth, who flinched.
"It's ok, he's friendly." Percy reassured Ranboo and Annabeth, still woozy with pain.
Bob touched Annabeth's wounds and it healed immediately to his touch. "All better!" Bob declared, pleased with himself. "I'm Bob, Percy's friend!"
Just then did Percy notice how weary Ranboo looked. Ranboo had morphed back to his human form again. Being in enderman form take up energy, so he never stays in enderman form for long, even though it's more useful.
"Uh... yeah." Percy managed. "Thanks for the help, Bob. It's really good to see you again."
"Yes!" The janitor agreed, "Bob. That's me. Bob, Bob, Bob." He shuffled around, obviously happy with his name. "I am helping. I heard my name. Upstairs in Hades's palace, nobody (or Nobody) calls for Bob unless there is a mess. Bob, sweep up these bones. Bob, mop up these tortured souls. Bob, a zombie exploded in the dining room."
Annabeth and Ranboo both gave Percy a puzzled look, but the son of Poseidon had no explanation.
"Then I heard my friend call!" The Titan beamed. "Percy said, Bob!"
Bob hoisted Percy to his feet. "That's awesome." Percy said. "Seriously, but how did you-"
The silver Titan's expression turned serious, "Oh, time to talk later. We must go before they find you. They are coming, yes, indeed."
"They?" Annabeth asked.
Ranboo questioned, "Wait what's happening?"
Percy scanned the horizon. He didn't see anyone approaching.
Bob nodded, "Yes, but Bob knows a way! Come on, friends! We will have fun!"
"Ranboo!" Annabeth cried out in alarm. The said enderman hybrid fell to the ground with a thud. He was too tired.
"Bob can carry him." Bob volunteered. Percy nodded. Bob carried Ranboo as the two demigods trailed behind him.
Annabeth whispered to Percy, "Are you sure this is ok....?"
Percy answered, "I hope so."

Ghostbur did not understand why everyone seems sad.
They have all the Blue they would need, and they all have each other. To Ghostbur, everyone should be happy.
As he clutched some Blue in his hands and floated around the ship, he looked down. There it was, the gash in his chest from a sword wound. How he died to his father.
Why did Phil do that? Everyone saw him as a sort of hero for doing it... why? I don't know anything.... I can't remember.
Why?
Ghostbur snapped back to reality. He smiled, as if nothing happened, because it's ok. It's all over now, so everything's fine. Everyone is happy, and even Techno is here! Ghostbur gets to braid people's hair now and be happy everyday.
Everything is good. Everyone is happy.
Right?
