Chapter 1 - PJO Arc Begins: Who Are You?!

Lately, a lot of things have been happening. The nymphs, satyr, and spirits have been restless and demigods kept getting dreams about a masked man in green talking to Luke. If that green man is helping Kronos, it would be bad for the half-bloods and gods, since their enemies would have gained another ally. All the omens and signs are bad. They indicate that the green man is very powerful. The gods have also felt an unknown power, magic, it seems.

The heads of each cabin, Chiron, and Mr. D are having a meeting in the big house. A war council, to be exact.

"The dreams are indicating Kronos has gained a new ally. Whoever that is, things are not good for us. We also know that there is an unknown power near the camp. We do not know what it is, so we must be cautious and not act rashly." Chiron announced. The white centaur was right beside the camp director — Mr. D, or the Greek wine god Dionysus.

Mr. D was not drinking coke — unlike usual. He was looking at the demigods with a serious expression.

Percy shivered. This was a grave matter, he could tell. No one knew what the unknown power is, but they do know it's not the Titans. The aura and feel of this power are different, but they don't know the intentions of the power or its source.

"I have consulted the oracle." Chiron suddenly looked as old as he is. "It told me many things. One of which is two demigods and a satyr will go on a quest to find the source of this power. The satyr will lead the demigods."

The satyr is leading since demigods can't sense the things satyrs can, like scents. Satyrs are much more connected with nature as well, so they would be able to feel the power better.

Percy glanced around, everyone was nervous.

"Who will go?" Beckendorf, the head of the Hephaestus cabin, asked.

Chiron answered, "I believe it will be Annabeth and Percy if they are willing to take up the quest and no one objects," When everyone gave the centaur questioning looks — except Mr. D, who isn't confused — he began to explain, "We can only spare so few people while preparing for war. Annabeth has her siblings to take her place while she's gone. Percy just needs to practice his fighting skills."

Nobody added that he also needed to not join Kronos and become the prophecy child.

After hearing Chiron's explanation, no one objected. Percy spoke up, "Wait, what about the satyr? Can we take Grover?"

Chiron nodded, "Grover can come on the quest."

After a well-deserved rest, (that, of fact, did not last more than a few minutes, since this quest was so urgent and important) Annabeth, Percy, and Grover set off towards the unknown power on Blackjack and his buddies. Grover looked stressed and was chewing on some tin cans. To pass the time and de-stress, Percy talked to Blackjack.

Yo, boss! Do you need us to stampede over anyone? We'll do it! Blackjack told Percy.

Percy shook his head, "Nah. We don't know what it is yet. It could be an ally or it could be too powerful for you guys. Thanks for the offer though."

I'll always have your back, boss. Blackjack said inside Percy's head.

"I know." Percy said gratefully, "and don't call me boss."

A few hours later, the pegasi landed. The pegasi were all sweating and tired. Uh, boss. Do we have to go further? Blackjack asked nervously.

Percy realized that the reason for his nervousness must be that fact that this place is close to the unknown power. "No, you can go back," Percy told the pegasi.
