Mikayla had been staring at the couch where her friend had been laying for the past twelve hours.
Mrs. Darby had come around a few times to make sure the wound hadn't claimed infection- in which Mikayla told her wasn't possible for them, but the nurse had brushed it off.
If anything, it was her own personal excuse to come to base more often.
Mik hadn't left her friend unless it was to get something to eat or use the restroom, afraid that when the blonde woke up she wouldn't have anything familiar to ground her.
They'd been told the story of how the blonde appeared out of random and saved the day- and Mikayla was eager to know what the hell would happen now that she could bring the dead back to 'life.'
But she was mostly worried. Mrs. Darby had said that the only logical explanation for her injury would be something like a wolf or a bobcat, and Mik was concerned. Just how long had she been out there until she was able to meet up with the bots?
At the moment though, it didn't matter, because the older woman was checking on her friend for the third time that day. Thank god it was Saturday, because there was no way they were going to school after everything that had just happened.
Especially Raf- who was clinging to his friend like he was a lifeline. Bumblebee wasn't really complaining either, especially with the whole Miko scare. So they two spent a lot of time doing things together to try and forget about everything that had happened.
After everything, the human partners had been closer to their guardians than ever, especially with the clear fact that they could lose them hot in their minds.
Which made Mikayla increasingly more upset with the fact that she wasn't home yet. The girl wanted to go back home- to the bayverse with Ironhide & Bumblebee. Where she could just hang out around base with the autobots and not have to go through whatever the hell this was again.
But that wasn't an option, not at least until E woke up. Not at least until the girl was walking around on her own two feet and helping her come up with stupid ideas that probably would never work but it would be fun to try anyways.
However, one thing remained a question: What happened to the weird rock thing?
Smokescreen and Bumblebee had gone back to see if they could find it, scavenging the battlefield for it, but it was nowhere to be found. Almost like it had disappeared completely.
There were so many questions running through her head, but she didn't know any of the answers. And that was frustrating.
There was a small groan that echoed through the silence, and the brunette looked at her friend, who was actually responding to whatever Mrs. Darby had been doing. Mik rushed towards her friend, appearing at her side in a few short seconds.
"E?" she asked, trying to watch her friend for any signs that she had heard her. "Em is that you?"
Another groan echoed through the room as the blonde cracked open an eye. "No it's the pizza guy across the street. Who else?"
A relieved sigh escaped Mik's mouth as she laid her head against the side of the arm rest. "Oh thank god."
Em laughed slightly as she tried to sit up, June helping her along as the rest of the room began to gather curiously around the girl.
The blonde gave out a cheeky grin as she stared at the group gathering around her. "So what'd I miss?"
---
Bumblebee wasn't happy.
Actually, no one on base was really doing well. After E had disappeared, the screen had gone blank. Jazz had tried for hours to get a call out again before giving it to the tech crew in hopes that they'd find something that he didn't.
