When we arrive at school, the first thing I notice is the darkness of the hall, which is weird, I know.
Like they did at the party, the girls meet us at the front door.
Everything in the hall reminds me of the party, and I'm starting to feel like everything will. Of course, when I think about the party, I think of Thomas.
When we enter the hall, it's magical. The hall is lit with enough light to just about make out everything, music plays softly in the background, complimenting the couples already dancing. It's like every girl's dream.
But like at every prom, there are rules - no drinking, no puking, etc.
The girls are just as mesmerised as I am, standing with their mouths slightly open in awe.
"This is awesome."
"So romantic."
The rest of the girls go off with their dates as soon as we walk in, leaving Sonya and I.
"Yeah - romantic for people in a relationship." Sonya remarks.
I laugh, but sometimes I think how Sonya doesn't have a boyfriend. She's pretty and kind - who wouldn't want to be with her? Then again, she's crushing on my brother.
We're talking by the drinks when someone taps on my shoulder. I turn around and meet chocolate brown eyes that seem to glow, despite the dimness of the room.
"Hey. Can I talk to you? " Thomas asks, his voice hushed and warm.
I look at Sonya, not wanting to leave her.
"Go!" She mouths encouragingly, even giving me a sly wink.
"Yeah. Sure."
I let him lead me into an empty classroom.
"So."
This conversation seems familiar.
"Look, I know I've completely blanked you recently -" He begins.
"-No crap." I deadpan.
"-But I have a reason."
"Can't wait to hear it."
"Look. Ever since the party, I can't stop thinking about-"
He's cut off when someone walks in to the room and throws their arms around him, kissing him. Even worse, he puts his hands on her waist and pulls her closer.
As I walk out, I don't see anything through the wall of tears lining my eyes.
Duh,duh, duh. Comment what you think, vote if it's good. I know it's short but I did this on purpose. Thomesa for life. #Brendahateclub
