Although, it was pretty soon until I found myself awake again. Tossing and turning, unable to sleep. I found myself thinking about my Mom a lot. I was young when she passed away so I can't remember an awful lot but she was always in my mind. She was a part of me forever. Sooner or later, I found myself staring at my bedroom ceiling with tears in my eyes. I was breathing heavily but I was trying to stop myself in case I woke up my brother or Maddie.

A couple minutes later I heard a knock on my door and Chase opened it. When he saw me crying, he immediately came towards me and hugged me. "What's wrong?" He asks. I shrug my shoulder. It was embarrassing to tell him. "You can tell me Els. Somethings bothering you. I don't care that it's 1am, I'm here to listen" he tells me. I sigh. "I can't stop thinking about Mom" I say, bursting into tears once again. "You missing her?" He asks and I nod. "Me too, kid. She'll be proud of you. I know it." He says. We sit there for a few minutes just talking quietly about Mom.

"Come here, put a hoodie on and shoes and follow me" he tells me and I do so, just like he does. He opens the apartment door and I follow him, he makes sure to close it again and then takes my hand, "follow me" he says. We begin to walk up the stairs of his apartment block. We reach the very top, the rooftop. I knew why he brought me up here. "Do you know why I brought you up here?" He asks and I nod. "Mom loved sitting on rooftops and watching the stars" I reply and he nods. "I don't know if you remember this, but one of the last things she told us was that if we were ever missing her, to look at the stars and she would be with us" he tells me and a tear rolls down my cheek. "Come here" my older brother says and wraps his arm around my shoulder.

We sat here for a little longer.

I woke up and checked the time, 1:35am, Chase wasn't next to me. He was when I went to sleep. I stood up and looked around the apartment. I looked in Ellies room and Chase wasn't there, neither was Ellie. I walked over to the kitchen top to see a note Chase wrote for me.

Els was missing Mom,
I've taken her up to the rooftop.

He was the cutest. I knew he often went to the rooftop of our apartment when he missed his Mom and it was nice he took Ellie there too. I put on one of Chases hoodies and put my shoes on and began to walk up to the rooftop. As I reached the top, I saw Chase sat next to Ellie with his arm around her shoulders, pointing to stars. It was adorable. I quickly take a quick snap of it on my phone and join them.

"Hey guys" I say quietly, not wanting to disturb them too much

"Hey guys" I say quietly, not wanting to disturb them too much. "Hi mads" Chase says smiling and I sit on the other side of Ellie. She was now in the middle of me and Chase. "You like the stars too?" I ask her. She nods and rests her head on my shoulder. "Yeah, Mom use to tell us that if we looked to the stars, she would be next to us. It kinda comforts me I guess" she tells me. "You're just like your brother. I've found him up here countless times" I reply.
