Chase Stokes and his girlfriend, Madelyn Cline are in Charleston filming season two of Outer Banks. What happens when something happens to his younger sister, Ellie.
Chases pov We went out for a meal with everyone for Ellie's birthday and it was currently 8pm. Me and Madelyn had one last surprise for Ellie. There was this lantern thing at 10pm. You could let off lanterns and that. I remember our Mom took me and Ellie once on her 4th birthday, exactly 10 years ago. We were going to tell her now.
"Hey, Els. Come here" Mads says and Ellie joins us. "We have one last surprise for you" I say and she nods. "There's a lantern festival at 10pm in the top of Charleston. We wanna take you" I tell her and she smiles. "I don't know if you remember going with me and Mom for your 4th birthday?" I asked. "Of course i remember. It was my last birthday with mom and I remember her saying, when I'm not with you, light a lantern and I'll be with you a little closer" she told me, I remember her saying that too. "Why don't we go get changed into warmer clothes and get ready to leave?" Mads suggested and we nod.
As we were sitting in the car on the way, Ellie said "thank you, for everything. I love you both so much and I can't believe you've done all this for me" she says and I turn around to face her (mads was driving), "You mean the world to us Els. And I'm sorry about all the shit that's been going on lately but here you are. You're 14 and you've made it. I'm so fucking proud of you" I say. "CHASE!" Maddie scolds me, for swearing. We all just laugh.
Once we got there, it was beautiful. We each got a lantern. We took some photos and let them go into the sky. "Happy Birthday bubs" Madelyn says, hugging Ellie before she lets hers go off. "Hope you're celebrating up there Mom" I say and let mine go. Next up was Ellie, who sighed. "Thank you, Mom. I hope you're proud. I miss you so much. I love you momma" she says and let's hers go into the sky. I wrap my arms around Ellie and Mads' shoulders. We sat watching the lanterns for almost an hour until we went back home.
