Chapter 67

Ellies pov
It was a new day, meaning it was another day to hopefully achieve something little. By that I mean doing something I use to be able to do with ease but now can't. Even if that is smiling and laughing.

"Ellie" I hear Madison yell weakly. "Where are you?" I ask, not sure where she's disappeared to. "Kitchen" she says once again weakly. I rush into the kitchen and see her on the floor. I run over to her and kneel down. "Bails. Shit. What happened?" I ask panicked. She looked pale yet she had a fever. "Come on, let's get you sat down on the couch" I say and try and help her up.

After a couple of minutes, I successfully got Madison sat down on the couch. "I'm gonna go get a damp towel, you have a high fever" I say. "Don't leave me Ellie" she says. I was so confused, I've never saw Madison like this before. "I'll be quick, I promise" I say and she nods reluctantly and I rush to get a cold towel.

When I get back to her, she's asleep. "Wake up Bails" I say shaking her gently. "Madison, please wake up" I say louder and she jumps awake. "Huh. What. Who are you? Where's my wife?" She asks panicked. "I'm Ellie, you know who I am. Mariah is in Charlotte with Izzy, your daughter" I remind her but she looks even more confused. "Daughter?" She asks. What's happened to her. "Yeah, Isabel Linney and you have another one on the way" I say pointing to her bump which makes her furrow her eyebrows and point at mine.

"Yeah, I am too" I say. "You've got to remember Madison, please" I say. If she doesn't remember I'm gonna have to call an ambulance. "Oh. Chase and Maddie. You're their daughter? You're like my daughter though" she suddenly says which makes me smile. "We need to take your hoodie off, you'll overheat" I say and help Madison taking it off, leaving her in her T-shirt. "I'm sorry. My heads hurting. I do know who you are" she says panicking. "Calm down Bails, it's fine. You need to stay calm" I say.

"You've got a fever Madison, my Mom says cold baths should help. Do you want me to run it for you?" I ask her and she nods so I do as I said I would. "Come on, it's ready" I say, helping her up by holding her hands. "You'll be okay? Shout if you need me" I say when she's in the bathroom.

It was only 20 minutes before Madison stumbled back into the room with an oversized short and shorts on. "Do you feel better?" I ask her but she shakes her head. "I feel so dizzy" she says and holds onto the door. I rush over to her and hold onto her, "Are you ready to walk to your bedroom?" I ask her and reluctantly nods. I make sure to hold onto her until she's laying in her bed, even though it was only 5pm, she needed rest. "I'll put some Netflix on, what do you want?" I ask her and she mumbles an anything so I just play a random movie. Madison was still really warm so I got her another cold towel and made sure she had her phone and a bottle of water besides her.

"We need more food so I'm gonna head to the grocery store, will you be okay?" I ask her, making sure. "I'll be fine. Be safe Els, love you" she says weakly as I head out the house. Even though I was 18, I still couldn't drive. I've never needed to beca7se we are so busy anyways but this year I'll definitely start. I call Zoe and ask if she will drive me. "Hey Zo, you down for a target trip?" I say on the phone. "Bitch yes I haven't saw you in a week. I'll pick you up from Madisons" she says and a couple minutes later she's here.

"This is why you're the Mom of the group, you can take care of people" Zoe says after I tell her what happened today. I couldn't help but laugh, "I mean my Mom does it so much so I just picked it up from her and I look after the little ones often and I guess I'm gonna have to help this lil girl when she arrives" I say, holding my bump. Zoe immediately stops the car, "Hold up. Girl?? You're keeping it??" She says surprised.

"I spoke to Cooper before the scan and we agreed to keep the baby. Nobody knows except us two though. As much as I think it's too soon, what if the baby got adopted by someone like my biological Dad when it could be living it's life happily with us. And yeah the scan showed it's a girl" I spill to my best friend.

"I'm so happy for you Els" she says, hugging me once we arrived at target. We bought stuff we didn't need but most importantly I bought medicine and food for Madison. I got her favourite fruit and pasta to make for her tonight.

"Text me if you need me, I'll be right over" Zoe says when she drops me odd. "Madison, I'm home" I yell when I arrive but I didn't hear a response. Panicked, I dropped the grocery bags on the kitchen floor and ran upstairs, I was relieved to see she was asleep. That gave me time to make food.

I made Madisons favourite tomato pasta. I took a tray up for her to eat it and got her a glass of water with ice. When I got upstairs, she was awake. "I knew you made that, I could smell it" she says smiling. "Here you go" I say, carefully passing her the tray of pasta. "Thank you for everything Els, you're a special one for sure" she says and I sit down next to her, eating my own pasta.

"Madison..." I say and she nods. "I'm keeping the baby and I found out a ew days ago it's a girl" I say. I was scared but I was kinda excited. "I'm so proud of you and guess what? I'm also having a girl!" She says and I couldn't stop myself from smiling. I achieved what I wanted to do today, smiling.
