Kaya beum, here's an update. I started this kahapon lang tbh at kakatapos ko lang ngayong gabi, it's 11 something pm here rn. I enjoyed making this chap so much and I hope you enjoy reading it too. Trev's POV
"It's nice to finally meet you meta-humans. Never thought I'd be able to actually work with one, let alone two, in person but here we are." The man who introduced himself as Dr. Nicholas said, giving both me and Dimitri a firm handshake.
"Pleasure to meet you as well doctor." I said in between our exchange.
"The honor is mine. I apologize for the rough shape of the place, this expedition has been going on for almost a month now so me and my men are already going through extreme measures." Napatingin kami sa kabuuhan ng lugar, and tulad nga ng sabi ni doc Nicholas, the place really does look beaten up.
"Ebarg." Rinig kong bulong nitong kasama ko habang patuloy paring natingin sa lugar.
After jumping through the portal, we found ourselves in the middle of an archeological digging site somewhere here in Egypt. Gabi pa dito nang dumating kami kaya naman ang nagsisilbing liwanag lang ng lugar ay ang mga outposts ng ilaw na itinayo ng mga workers na naririto ngayon. The place looks like an ancient stone temple and it looks really old. Maraming mga tao ang kasalukuyang labas pasok dito sa templo. May mga iilan ding ipinakilala sa'min si doc. Buti nalang nga at mukhang inasahan nitong si Dr. Nicholas ang aming pagdating kaya hindi kami nagkaroon ng problema sa pag-adjust sa lugar.
"I bet you guys are wondering what we're doing here huh?" Pinagpag lang muna sandali ni doc ang kan'yang kamay sabay tanggal sa gloves na suot niya. "Perhaps we can talk about it through some coffee."
Niyaya kami ni doc na sumunod sakan'ya papunta sa isang malaking tent na nakapwesto sa may 'di kalayuan sa mismong site. Once we got inside ay binati naman kami ng iilan sa mga naroon sa loob. May isang babae ang lumapit sa'min probably mga kasing edaran nitong si doc and offered us each a cup of hot coffee.
"That's my wife." Doc Nicholas said after he lead us to a small division inside the tent that would fit probably around 7 to 8 people. Spacious enough for us three.
Inabutan niya kami ng tigisang upuan. "Please do sit."
Agad lang din naman namin itong ginawa at naupo na nga kami sa may harap ng isang foldable round table.
"So, hi again." He said placing the eyeglass he's wearing on the collar of his shirt. "Let's get down to business shall we?"
"That would be very much appreciated." Tanging sabi ko lang.
"So you two are the meta-humans who are going to be doing our task request, am I right?"
Tumango ako. "Ah yes, that's basically it."
