Chapter 19

Hayat Aslan's POV

"Oh God, I am so tired." I said laying on the hospital bed that was placed on my cabin. I used to use that to check on my patients sometime. I take rest even sleep on that when I was too busy.

I never liked to put my duties on others shoulders unlike other senior doctors. I was one of the youngest doctors to get that title so, slacking off was not an option. I was in at least five surgeries from the morning. I was not inside all the time so, that's why I thought I would be fine. But now I felt like all my bones were broken.

I checked the time and it was already 2PM. "They served the lunch some time ago. I better go and eat something before everything finishes."

I was not very fond of the hospital food as they maintain too much healthy code. They serve meat only on special occasions and try to use less spice in everything. I miss Turkish hospital foods. They were not that health conscious.

I got a small vegetable pizza and spaghetti. I was joined by the juniors as I was quite friendly expect for when I was in a work mood.

"What's going on? Why do I feel like you all are just sitting here for formality?" I asked while sitting in the spare chair.

Lea signalled me with her eyes towards Donnie and Beanie. Both of them sat far away from each other and it gave me the hint why all of them were tensed. They clearly had a fight and the aftermath of their fight were always scary.

They used to fight all the time making fun of each other's weird names. Later all of us got to know that they started dating. Exactly a story of a TV show but they were a bit different. As they were dating, they knew more than they knew about each other before. So they throw all the dirt at each other, spilling secrets and so on.

That's why their fights were scary. But I had no idea how they get back after all that everytime. They were those couples from the hospital who start their family in the hospital itself. It must be nice to work in the same place as your partner.

"Beanie, Do you want to assist Dr. Cutwood in his surgery? He was asking for a doctor to help him a few minutes ago." I said as if I did not drop some bomb on that poor girl.

Dr. Cutwood was the most strict one and no one really want to work with him. "I will assist him. She already had enough surgeries today." Donnie said.

"You don't need to think about me. Go flirt with that pretty doctor. I will do it, mam." Beanie said with a scowl.

"Of course, I need to take care of you otherwise you are going to fall sick and I have to nurse you back to health!"

"Who told you to nurse me back to health?"

"I am not heartless like you."

I blocked them out as I continue to eat with a small smile. Even their fight is filled with love. Maybe that's happens when you are in love with your partner. My brother and sister in law used to fight like that and I always wanted a love like that.

Right in that moment, Murat's face flashed on my mind. "What the heck? Why did I remembered him suddenly. Gosh! There goes my whole day." I mumbled and threw all the leftovers.

I was tired and my mood was off because I suddenly remembered someone who could not be remembered! I was literally dragging my legs towards my cabin and that's when I saw someone familiar.

"Manik? Oh great! I can properly thank him for helping me out there. I hope everything is fine. Hospital is very bad for meeting people suddenly. You never know who is going through what."

My mood lifted instantly and I had a big smile when I started to approach him. But on my third step, I had to put a break on my legs. Like a nightmare, Murat came out of Manik's back. A light was flashed behind them and it actually looked like an adaption of my worst nightmare.

They were talking to each other and Murat had a smile on his face. They clearly knew each other and I was seconds away from being exposed.

I turned around before they could notice me and freed my hair from the ponytail. It covered my identity from them. I was just standing there when I heard their footsteps coming close to me. They passing by right beside me when I felt his hand grazed a little on mine. Murat was turning back to see me but I turned back first and literally ran towards my cabin.

I closed the door behind me as I was panting from running. "What is he doing here? Gosh I feel like I stole something and now I am worried about getting caught. I should have held my head high not running like that. But it's too early for that. Let 5 more years to pass. I hope, I will be done with my excuses till then."

I did not get out of my cabin thinking they would be out there. I wrapped a scarf to cover my face and left the hospital in the evening. I was still paranoid so looking around and walking at the same time as if I was trying not to make any sound surely made me look suspicious.

I hurriedly went inside of my car and drove away from the hospital. "I hope he goes away soon along with his friend Manik."

I came back home and saw Nandini in the kitchen, cooking something. I stood under the shower for a long time. That scene kept replying in front of my eyes. He became more good-looking. Don't know why these evil people were all good looking. They were supposed to be the bad looking ones.

"TV show? My life turned into a comedy show where I am the miserable character and everyone laughs looking at me."

I came out of my room after getting ready for the night. Nandini still looks worried about something. Looked like we all were going through our bad days.

" What's wrong? I thought I was the worried one here but you look so pale. Are you alright?" Nandini asked.

"I look like a ghost right?" Nandini slowly nodded with her wide eyes.

"I want to be one. Probably then I will get rid of all my problems. I saw someone whom I don't want to see. He is from my country. Let's just say his mere presence ruined my whole day." I said with a sigh.

"What's with people running into the person they don't want to see. I also saw someone but thank God he didn't see me there. I hope he leaves soon."

"Did we commit something bad? Why are we facing all these nonsense?"

Nandini was silent for few minutes. "Nah, even if I did something bad, I never did something that bad to get him as punishment. It would be too much." she shook her head and I smiled in pain.

I also had done nothing to get that punishment.
