Chapter 43

Nandini Arora's POV

He went out of the room after I asked him about the personal relationship between us. That's what I expected. I had no special relationship with him and the professional one did not approve him to interfere in my life.

Later Katherine came to take care of me because Nial took Manik with him for a night out. I was glad that I didn't have to face Manik otherwise we would fight once again.

"I must say, Manik cares about you. The way he was telling me to do this, that and blah blah blah. I genuinely thought that he is your guardian. I heard he is your fiancé as well. You are lucky." Katherine said and I rolled my eyes.

"He is not my fiancé. I don't know where you heard about it. He was, once upon a time but now he is nothing but a business acquaintance. He is close to my parents but that's it. Also, I used to love the attention I  get whenever I fell sick but after staying alone and taking care of myself, I don't like him fussing over me just because I am sick. Not only him if you also fuss over me like a mother hen, then just know that I am going to throw you out of my room." Katherine just laughed.

"Looks like you really hated topic about him like I just told you that he is a great guy, he takes care of you but you just told me a whole paragraph why you don't like whatever he is doing."

"He is complicated. He will not let you be free and have a claim over you, like I'm not his fiance anymore. He can't tell me what I could do or can't do. He needs to stay in his limit but no he thinks that he own everyone and everything. We all need to listen to him. One time he says that we would be only business partners then later he acts like he is my fiancé or more husband, and have some claim over me, like buddy can you please not!"

Katherine were in a daze like she was thinking about then I heard her murmuring, "No wonder Nial and Manik are friends they are practically the same."

Same! I was talking about claims and other things but she said same... Wait a minute! I was rewinding everything Nial has been doing to Katherine and I realized that I had been missing something. He only needed her always, like if some bad thing happened or good things happened, he always called her in his cabin and make her stay there for hours. Why would he do that if not he...

"Sh!t Katherine! Are you dating Nial?" Katherine was not expecting that sudden question and I could see blood rushing to her cheeks. She was blushing and fumbling with words.

"Wha- woah! That's so sudden and what are you talking about? He is my boss, girls throw them at him all the time. I am not even made to stand beside him." Katherine said with a head shake. Was that sadness I dictated in her voice?

"Katherine, tell me the truth. I know you are hiding something." I pressed more. It was revolutionary find and I intended to know more about it.

"There is absolutely nothing to say. We are not dating, we sure as hell don't like each other. He sucked enough amount of girls faces in front of me to make me puke. Sometimes he doesn't care at all. Sometimes he is all possessive like that. Sometimes he would pull me close, some time he insults me badly. I am just there because the payroll is good and I have a loan to pay. He and I can never be together and I'm not even dreaming of that. I am a girl who knows her limit and he is absolutely not something that I can afford." I felt so bad for Katherine. I know the look, she was in love with him and she knew that she could never have him. The feeling is really painful.

"I don't know what to say but just take care of yourself, don't let yourself hurt by him that's all I'm going to say. Why don't you date someone else? I'm sure it'll help you to move on."

"I feel nothing about him. I don't need to move on or date other guys. I tried to date once but it didn't end very well. I'm always busy with my work and tensed about the loan. Once I am done with the loan and get a job somewhere else, I would definitely think of dating and moving on in my life." I didn't press because something evil was going on in my mind.

She stayed there with me until I had my dinner and medicine. Once I was done, she left from my room, leaving me to work on my dresses.

Hayat Aslan's POV

I didn't realize that I was fussing over Murat. I was just checking on him constantly to see if he was ok or not if he was again upset about grandma. In short I was getting clingy and I didn't even realize it.

I didn't know if Murat was uncomfortable because of me or simply glad that he was not alone in that situation But he was a bit touchy as well. He would hug me whenever he felt down. I remember when I wanted to make dinner for us and told the butler to take a break, he did that for the first time. I was setting the table that time after cooking dinner and he just came down. I was just telling him that it's good he's down, I was going to call him anyway. He didn't say anything. He just came and hugged me.

I was shocked over what happened. But I naturally hug him back like it was not awkward at all. It felt like we were hugging each other for years to have that level of comfort. As a doctor I find it absolutely okay because he was not confining his emotions, he was not bottling it up. It would have been worse for him if he did that. He needed to express his emotions and I'm glad that I was there.

The good news came sooner than I expected. Grandma got her conscience back but she had to stay in the hospital because she was not stable yet. We literally ran towards the hospital to see her. She was not properly in senses yet because the medicines were heavy for her. But she was opening her eyes and sometimes trying to say something.  We were just there to support her and to tell her that she was fine and she was coming back to us. We were patiently waiting for her.

" what do you think she would say after she gets her whole sense?" I asked to Murat as I saw him getting emotional once again. I didn't know he could be that emotional, honestly.

"I don't care what she says. If she tells me that I have to jump from a building, I will do that. I just want her to be perfectly fine. She has to be fine."

"She will be fine. You just need to be strong." I hold his hand in assurance.

We waited for few hours and she got her conscious back fully. I smiled at her and Murat was asking her if she's ok, if she is feeling some pain on not. She didn't say anything she just looked at us with some unreadable eyes. I felt worried because what if her senses were not fully there or it would never come back. I hold Murat from his shoulder and try to drag him back.

"Why she is not responding?" Murat asked and I had no answer as I had to check her. Dr. Imran also was worried and checking on her vitals when she was just looking at Murat and I without blinking.

We all were getting worked up when she just simply said these words, "You two, get married as soon as you can. I don't think I have enough time." with that she blinked.

I sighed in relief and Dr. Imran also did the same but Murat was frowning. "Did she just say those words? After giving us a heart attack?"

"She needs rest soon the medicines are going to overpower her once again." I said it to Murat. "Grandma, are you feeling fine? Is there any kind of pain you are feeling, not bearable types."

"I am fine but you two need to get married soon I want to see you guys married before anything happens to me." She said those words once again.

"Grandma you just woke up. You don't have to talk about our marriage now like a robot on loop." Murat said with a frustrated sigh.

"I don't care about anything. I just want you both to get married. Enough of delaying."

She was talking in a strange way. If it was in movie I would have thought that she died and become a zumbie but thankfully I was a doctor and these things never happen in real life.

We didn't know why she was behaving like this so I just tried to calm her down that. "We will do whatever you say. But first you need to get better."

I could feel Murat's eyes on me. I didn't know if it was for good or bad.
