Nandini Arora's POV

I slammed the door open and Manik literally jumped because of the sudden commotion.

"So, this is why you and your mother is acting the innocent, ever so helpful human?" I said coldly and slowly walked inside.

"It's not -"

"It's not what I think? How? How do you are always misunderstood, Manik? Like everyone doesn't understand your noble intentions at all. If I didn't know better than I would have thought that you are a psychopath." I said with disgust and threw the file on his table.

"You are taking it all wrong. Just hear me out." He requested again.

"So that you can manipulate me? You continued with the marge, acting like a good human only to sell everything. No wonder you are bearing my father's hospital costs. That business will be pricy. You were thinking about the future, clap for you. You are such an insightful businessman." I said while clapping.

"Just let me Explain." He got up from his seat.

"I don't want any explanation. It's my fault that I kind of trusted you when I knew what kind of a human you are. Do us a favor and do not show your face in my house and do not contact with us. I am capable of taking care of my parents. Thanks for everything you had done even with your half heart."

I turned to walk away but he held my hand and pulled towards him. I fall right into his arms with no balance. He wrapped his arms around to support me. I tried to back away after finding my balance but he just tightened his hold.

"Manik, let go of me." I told him still fighting.

"You need to listen to me and then you are free to go. I don't need any new misunderstanding between us." He said barely even trying to keep a hold on me.

I understood that there wasn't a way to win so, I just sighed. "You want to talk? Do it then. I would like to know your pathetic excuse again."

"Your father used to run that company but after he was diagnosed with Cancer, everything is a mess. The company is facing losses after losses. I can't take over because we have no idea about clothing business. We just had our name attached to it but everything was done by your father and his employees. I have no other option but sell it before the company went bankrupt." He said in a soft voice.

I scoffed, "You are lying. You would have closed it long ago if it was facing loses. Your company name is on the line as well. No way you would ruin that because of ours."

"I did that because I didn't want you to think that I took advantage of your situation and destroyed the company. You are here now so, I can do that. Bankruptcy is not going to go well with your self respect when he only has few days to live."

"Shut up! Don't try to make me emotional. Nothing will happen to my father. Losing his family business is going to be a big blow to him. Your context is not matching up." I would not let him manipulate me again.

"At least he has tried his everything to make it work. He even put that company before you. If you want then I can show you all the paper work and everything. And about your father, I already talked to him about it."

"You manipulated him as well?!" I said with my wide eyes. Father would never agree to sell the company.

"No, I just showed him all the reports. I told him about it a month ago but he told me to sell it yesterday." He said sympathetically.

"Why? Why would he agree to sell it? He loves the company so much then why?" Tears were showing their presence.

"Because you have already succeeded in your field. You can take care of your mother as well as yourself. The company will become a burden on you. That's why he wants to sell it in order to leave some money for his family. It won't be much but he wants to. He did many things for that company but that company only sucked his life out. That's why he decided to let it go." He caressed my shoulder with his one hand.

I took a shaky breath. I didn't want to believe it but it somehow made sense. No one would be there to take care of the company as I would eventually go back to Canada. I rested my head on his chest, suddenly feeling very tired.

"Let me check the files."

Hayat Aslan's POV

"I have done nothing. That model is lying, I don't even know her name." Murat said calmly.

"God! You don't even know her name? What are you, a playboy? You are worse than what I thought." I said in disbelief.

"Will you stop assuming? I had never met her even if I did in a party, it must be for a while. She is not that significant to be remembered."

"Let me check up on her. Let's see what she wants to expose." I pulled out my phone and searched for the articles and videos. Next half an hour, I spent my time, watching her videos and articles.

I looked aside towards him and said, "She is too detailed to lie about you. You don't need to lie any more. Just tell the media that we broke our engagement years ago and we are just acquaintance right now. Accept her and the baby, give them their rights. Do something good maybe just maybe your grandpa will find peace soon."

"I am not accepting anything that I haven't done. What do you mean by my grandpa finding peace? He had died years ago."

"Sorry to say this but after all those bad deeds, I believe he found himself in a hell after dying." I give him a tight lipped smile.

He just looked at few seconds with a glare but probably realised that I could be right and pulled out his own phone. He dialed a number which was saved with a lawyer emoji in his phone.

"Are you calling your lawyer? I offended you that much! Dude, sueing me for that is really childish. You don't need to show me what you can do with your money." I tried to pull his phone away but he totally ignored me.

"Hello, Sue that model and make an investigation team. I need to know who the baby daddy is and if anyone is planning anything with this whole drama." He said and I lean on the seat with a relief.

"Yes, apology in front of the big media houses would be good and she along with her baby daddy should be on their knees." I threw him a frown. That's a pregnant woman he was talking about.

He cut the call after exchanging few more words. "You should not do that to your baby Mama." He took a deep breath after hearing that.

"How many times do I have to say that THE BABY IS NOT MINE!" He shouted at end, clearly frustrated. "Just wait before I show you all the proofs. There is no way I would fvck it up like this. I didn't even date anyone after you were gone."

"Who knows maybe you will be shocked as well." I shrugged. I scrolled down the new articles about what just happened in front of the hospital. I scrolled further to see what people were thinking.

Most of them were still confused about everything and some was calling him a cheater. I felt like warning them or they would be sued by the mighty Yilmaz. But some of them were after me saying why I did nothing. They wanted me gone.

"I am not even there. How do they want me to be gone." I murmured sadly.

"Stop reading nonsense. They don't know what's going on so their opinion do not matter." He said but I could not shook off the sad feelings.

We stopped in front of a restaurant and my eyes turned wide. "If they got a wind of us being here then they will come here as well. We need to go back to the house, we can't stay outside."

"We can, it will show everyone that we don't care about them. I am hungry as well so, come out." He got out of the car and I followed him.

"I swear, if I see one more flash today, then I am going to shout bloody murder. Everyone will think that your fiance is mad." I warned him. I wanted to go back to the house and curled up on the bed. But I didn't want that as well. My emotions were all messed up these days.

He turned towards me with a heart melting smile. "That's okay, I don't mind."

My heart missed a bit and I cursed out loud, "Damn my nerves are swinging on the wrong direction."
