Mike’s POV

          He was nervous. He wasn’t going to deny that. He swallowed as he and Chester sat down in a nice room and waited. They’d been coming here for about a month. Chester was worse than he was. But today was the day.

          “Mr. Shinoda?” a voice called. Both he and Chester looked up. Chester had taken his last name finally. They’d decided to get a single last name and Chester had liked Shinoda better. They both got up and walked towards the door. Chester held his hand tightly.

          “Right through here. You can go whenever you’re ready,” she smiled at them, “Take good care of him.”

          They slowly walked into the room and Mike smiled as he knelt down, “Hey there little guy, you ready to come home with us?”

          Chester nudged Mike slightly, “Draven, Mike. His name’s Draven remember?”

          “I do remember,” Mike smiled at Chester as he lifted the baby boy into his arms. Chester smiled slightly and Mike shook his head. He couldn’t believe he was actually holding him here. Chester had tears running down his face as he shyly held out his arms.

          “Well don’t keep him all to yourself. He’s gotta know his fun daddy,” Chester choked on the last word. Mike knew this was emotional for both of them. He slowly handed Draven over to Chester who smiled and bounced the baby in his arms.

          “Hey,” Chester smiled, “Hey Draven…..”

          Mike smiled as Chester was lost for words. They’d been preparing for an entire month, buying furniture, toys, clothes, and painting the walls in their house for their baby boy’s arrival. Mike had designed the walls himself and had made it seem like an ocean. Chester nodded at Mike and they picked up the little bag of things that they were going to take with them back to their house.

          “Draven Shinoda,” Chester said quietly, “It sounds good. I love him already.”

          “So do I Chazzy,” Mike said with a smile as he kissed his husband softly. He put his arm around Chester and they walked out to the car, Chester still looking down at Draven his eyes shining with love.

          “We’re a family now,” Chester whispered.

          “We’ve always been one,” Mike smiled, “But he’s a great addition.”

          Chester smiled at Draven who still hadn’t made any noise. He was a quiet baby. Mike smiled and helped Chester put their new son in the car before they drove home together. When they got home, Mike picked Draven up and smiled at the baby who was sucking on his pacifier. Chester helped unload the car and they walked inside. They went to the newly painted room. Chester sniffled slightly as he set the bags down and Mike set Draven down on the soft rug they had bought. Mike felt tears come into his eyes as he realized that this was something real now. They were dads.
