Chapter 5

Mike’s POV

          “Hey man!” Ryan said as he and Tak walked into his house. He felt so uncomfortable. He didn’t know what the hell Chester would think of this. He had told Chester they were coming but Chester had just said ok. He felt like Chester would probably try and intrude at some point.

          “And there’s the man!” Ryan said pointing at Chester who glanced up from his seat on the couch.

          “I don’t believe I know you. But I’m going to guess that you’re Ryan?” Chester asked quietly. Ryan nodded.

          “Yep. This is Tak. We’re the other part of Fort Minor.”

          “I know,” Chester muttered and he turned back to the television.

         

          “Hey Chaz…..do you think you could…..leave?” Mike asked and Chester looked up at him.

          “What?”

          “Well….we’re going to work on stuff here.”

          “Oh…right. Sorry. I’ll….go,” Chester said nodding and then he got up. He left the room and Ryan smirked at Mike.

          “And here we thought that you weren’t doing your job.”

          “Fuck you.”

          Mike sat down on the couch and sighed as he began to work on their songs with the other two. He was happy that Chester hadn’t come in after he’d told him to leave. They’d been working for at least two hours. He pulled out another sheet of lyrics and started reading them over. He knew he could do better with them.

          “Hey! Out!” Ryan shouted all of a sudden making Mike jump and drop his paper. He glanced over at Ryan who was glaring at someone behind him. Chester was staring at them.

          “I….”

          “Mike told you to fuck off so get on out of here.”

          “M-Mike…..,” Chester managed. Mike turned to look at Ryan who was giving him that look. This was a test. It was all a test. He swallowed and looked back up at Chester. “I….I just was….”

          “Out Chester,” Mike said pointing at the door. He saw the sadness wash over Chester before the other man took a shaky breath and nodded at him.

          “Ok.”

          Mike watched him leave and then a minute later he heard the car start and pull out of the driveway. He turned back to the two sitting there. Ryan had a slight smile on his face. And he couldn’t take it anymore. He leaped at the other man.
