Chapter 29

Mike’s POV

          “No.”

No? No? What? Mike stared at Chester in shock as the other man rubbed his throat gently before turning and leaving the room. He looked down at the table and tears filled his eyes. The silver ring that he’d bought Chester a long time ago was laying there on the table.

“No,” he whispered, “No. No. No. NO!”

“Mike, Mike ssshh,” Rob said getting up. Mike grabbed the ring off the table and ran to the bathroom.

“MIKE!” Dave yelled as Mike locked the door and pressed his head against the wall. He took a few deep breaths and let the tears fall. He stared down at the silver ring in his hand and realized that Chester was serious. He was serious about this. He’d warned Mike a long time ago if his anger continued, he’d end it. Mike just hadn’t taken him seriously. He’d been stupid. Yelling at Chester for doing the same thing that he’d done wasn’t fair. It was over now. He shouldn’t have gotten so mad at him. He couldn’t take the pain that accompanied this. He stared into the sink and cried. He’d screwed up. He’d really fucked up. He wanted to die. Its not like anyone would care if he left. Not even Chester. Not even his perfect Chester would care.

          “Mike, come on out!”

          “Mike get out of there!”

Mike shivered and sat down on the floor and rested his head on his knees. The problem? They had a performance in about two hours. How could they perform if they were like this? He wouldn’t be able to.

          “Mike please come out!”

“FUCK OFF!” he cried through his tears. He wanted them to leave him alone. He just wanted to be alone.

“Come out of the bathroom. Mike….please.”

Mike sighed but slammed the door open and stormed past them. He walked to his bed and laid down, “Go away. I’ll see you before the performance.”

          “Mi-”

“No, Dave, come on. Let’s leave him alone right now.”

Mike sighed as he heard the guys leave his room. Chester was gone from him. He’d set his ring down and said no. They were over? Is this what his life was going to end up like? Images flashed through his head as he shoved Chester against the wall by his throat. As he squeezed his neck to make Dave back away from him. He’d threatened to kill Chester. He’d threatened to strangle him. And then he’d thrown him on the ground and kicked him in the side. What was his problem? Why did he always do stupid shit? Why did he always lose control? He felt tears in his eyes as he pulled the blanket up to his chin and closed his eyes. He couldn’t handle it all.

He sat with Chester in his house. The boy sat next to him but didn’t lean on him like he usually did. He wondered if something was bothering him. Chester sighed and ran a hand through his spiky blonde hair.
