Chapter 15

Chester’s POV

He stood in the dark. He looked around desperately for some way out but he couldn’t see. His hands were cuffed behind his back. The door opened and someone walked inside. He glanced up and his eyes widened.

“N-No! N-Not you!” he screamed as a hand clamped over his mouth.

“It’s alright Chazzy. It’s going to be just fine.”

He shot up in the bed. He felt his shirt was soaked in sweat and he gasped before leaning slowly backwards against the headboard. He rubbed his eyes and saw Mike was still sleeping. He sighed softly before getting up and taking his shirt off before going to the bathroom. It was still dark out but it was around seven in the morning. He splashed some water on his face and then headed down the stairs. He took the newspaper from outside the door and frowned as he saw their band’s name on the side. He flipped to the page and started to read the article.

It was determined on Saturday May 4th, that the lead singer from Linkin Park, Chester Bennington had been released from jail for being found with meth and cocaine in his possession. Not only that, a picture was leaked online a year ago that shows that Bennington has suffered severe pain represented through scars that cover his stomach. Not much is known on the subject as the band refuses to talk about either reason. When Bennington’s significant other and bandmate, Mike Shinoda was asked about the issues he responded with: “It’s none of my business and it’s none of yours either. I’m not going to pretend like I know where they’re from. It could just be from being scratched by a dog as a kid. This is private information.”

No more is known on the case but the band plans on going on tour this summer. The people and fans are quite worried about how Bennington will perform with his drug and smoking problems. Once again, this topic was quite secret. There was only an answer from the band’s bassist Dave Farrell: “He’s fine. We’re not worried. It’ll be fun like always. He’s the same guy I knew yesterday and the day before and last year.”

Of course the tour probably causes a distraction from many things but one cannot help wondering if after tour, Bennington will fall back into the drugs he was doing before. With the drugs and scars that could show any range of injury from animal scratches to domestic abuse to car accidents.

Chester balled up the newspaper and flung it in the trash. Fucking news reporters. He snarled as he stalked through the house. How did they figure all of this out? How did they figure out about the jail? About the drugs? Who was talking? Mike would never do something like this to him. The band wouldn’t do anything like this. Someone was talking. He’d figure it out. He stormed back to the garbage can and dug out the paper. He checked the author. He gasped and dropped the paper. Anna Hillinger. Her. It was her. He grabbed his keys and headed down to the publishing office. He hadn’t even left Mike a note.

“I need to speak to an author here of one of the articles,” Chester hissed.

“And that would be who sir?”
