*PAST*

"Let's listen to music," Nick says while getting off the floor and onto his feet.

We are at his house working on a poster for school. It's supposed to be about how we can stop bullying. It's due tomorrow and Nick and I have nothing done.

"Okay," I say reluctantly. "But we need to get this done."

"We will," Nick mumbles as he walk over to the radio and turns it on. "Don't worry."

In about to say something but my favorite song blares through the speakers. The words I was gonna say get lost.

I jump to my feet, grab the remote, and stars singing and jumping around like a manic. Nick stands by the radio and laughs at me. I see him, smirk, then grab his hand and pull him out to the middle of the floor.

Nick shakes his head and laughs. "I don't dance!" He shouts over the music.

"Oh well!" I shout back.

We dance to the entire song. Well, not really dance... Just jump around and scream the lyrics.

The song ends and Nick turns the radio off.

"Why did you turn it off?" I whine.

"Because it's distracting both of us," Nick says laughing. He walks over to the poster and sits down on the floor next to me.

I huff then make a pouty face.

Nick pinches my lips together and laughs. "Idiot," he mumbles then let's go.

I laugh and punch him playfully.

"Hey!" He says rubbing his arm. "Your not allowed to hit your boyfriend!"

"Says who?" I challenge while sticking my tongue out at him.

"Me," he says then wraps his arm around me and forces a pencil into my hand. "Now draw!"

So, I draw. It takes a while but I'm finally pleased. Now, it's Nicks turn to do all of the work.

The house is quiet. The only noise is the birds chirping outside.

"Nick..." I begin.

"Yeah, Jen?" He says not looking up.

"That's gonna be our song."

"What song?"

"The song we just listened to..."

Silence.

"How to Get the Girl..."

"Ohhhhh... Okay."

"Dumbass!" I mumble.

Now Nick looks up. "What did you say?"

"I didn't say anything..."

He raises his eyebrows.

"Honestly!" I say throwing my hands up in defeat.

Nick just keeps staring at me. It's taking all I have not to laugh. Nick has that effect on me. He can always make me laugh. Therefore, I can never take him seriously.
